Panaji, 20th May 2026::The Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, is set to host the first-ever ‘Goa Shackathon’ on May 21 and 22, 2026 at Baga Beach. The two-day beachside workation experience will bring together startups, innovators, creators, designers, students and remote professionals from across the country.

Goa Shackathon re-imagines the traditional hackathon format by transforming Goa’s iconic beach shacks into collaborative workspaces. The initiative reflects Goa’s growing emergence as a destination for innovation, remote work, technology and creative entrepreneurship.

The first day of the event, themed ‘Hustle and High Tides’, will feature sessions on artificial intelligence, robotics, storytelling, communication and building companies from Goa. The second day, themed ‘Creators and Coastlines’, will focus on creativity, AI for design, voice modulation, communication and the growing creator economy. Participants will also engage in networking activities and collaborative experiences.

The event will be attended by dignitaries including Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant; Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications and Tourism, Shri Rohan Khaunte; MLA Bicholim and Chairman of InfoTech Corporation of Goa Limited, Shri Chandrakant Shetye; MLA Calangute, Shri Michael Lobo, MLA Saligao, Shri Kedar Naik, Secretary, Information Technology, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS; Director, Department of Information Technology Electronics and Communications, Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar; Managing Director, InfoTech Corporation of Goa Limited, Shri Praveen Volvotkar; along with senior government officials.
