Goan reporter:TRAD. GOAN FOLK FORMS TO TAKE CENTRESTAGE AT WORLD CULTURAL DAY CELEBRATIONS ON MAY 21

Panaji, 20th May 2026::The Department of Art and Culture will celebrate the World Cultural Day on May 21, 2026 from 5 pm inwards at Multipurpose Hall, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji. Under the above initiative, other traditional folk forms namely ‘Gudulya Kani’ from Canacona and ‘Dovali Maand’ from Sattari will be showcased. Both these forms are on the verge of extinction and presently few veteran artists continue to preserve and perform these art forms. Besides traditional presentations the programme will also include folk dances, Ghumat vadan, and talks by folk experts highlighting the cultural significance of these forms.
