EX-SERVICEMEN CONTACT PROGRAMME AT HONDA-VALPOI

Panaji,  Jan.  19, 2013 …  Ex-Servicemen contact programme will be conducted by the Department of Sainik Welfare on January 20, 2013 at 10.30 a.m. at Sitaram Sabhagrih, Honda, Valpoi, Goa.

The Secretary, Department of Sainik Welfare will brief Ex-Servicemen and their widows on various schemes, welfare benefits and other concessions introduced and provided by the Department of Sainik Welfare as well as State /Central Government.

He will meet the widows of the Ex-Servicemen in the area and listen to their grievances if any.

He will also gather relevant input through this programme to formulate future proposal for the benefit of all Ex-Servicemen. All the  Ex-Servicemen and widows of Sattari  taluka are requested to attend the programme in large numbers.

CM UNVEILS PORTRAIT OF SWAMI VIVEKANAND AT ASSEMBLY COMPLEX

January 12, 2013 ….  Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar  unveiled the portrait of  Swami Vivekanand at the Library Hall of Assembly Complex at Porvorim on the occasion of his birth anniversary on saturday in the distinguished presence of  Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Rajendra Arlekar,  Deputy Speaker Shri Anant Shet. Leader of Opposition Shri Pratapsingh Rane and others.

POWER SHUTDOWN

Panaji; January 9, 2013 ….  The power shutdown has been arranged on 11 KV Chorao Feeder on January 11, 2013 between 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. to carry out emergency maintenance  works. As such there will be no power supply available at Konaldem, Belbhat, Gavona and Karaibhat of Surrounding area of Chorao   village.

ORAL INTERVIEW FOR POST OF AWAL KARKUN ON JANUARY 17,18 AND 19, 2013.

Panaji. January 08, 2013. …. Candidates, who have appeared for written test on November 04, 2012 for the post of Awal Karkun are hereby informed that those who have qualified in the written test   are short-listed and their names, are displayed on the notice board of this office.

The oral interview of these short-listed candidates is fixed on January 17,  January 18 and January 19, 2013.  Individual call letters to appear for oral interview have been dispatched.  In case any qualifying candidates have not received intimation he/she may contact to  the Collectorate Office

APPLICATIONS INVITED TO RUN A FAIR PRICE SHOP AT CANDOLIM

Panaji, January 08, 2013 …. Applications are invited from the  interested parties, residing in the locality of Candolim, Bardez  Viz Registered Co-operative Societies, Educated Unemployed, individuals belonging to  Scheduled Caste/Tribes,  Freedom Fighters, physically handicapped and others having spacious premises for  handling and storing P.D.S. and non P.D.S. commodities and should  be  financially sound, with reasonable business to run a Fair Price Shop.

Majority of the Registered Co-operative Society are necessarily required to be of Educated unemployed and  should be one the five register of Employment Exchange for 2 years and they should be within the age limit of 18 to 35 years of each members.

Educated unemployed should  have passed S.S.C.E. through any recognized  school in Goa State and should be in the live register of the  Employment Exchange at  least for 2 years and should be within the age  limit of 18 to 35 years. Besides, he should be completely free from  encumbrance of studied. No  Member of family definition being Father/Mother, Spouse, Unmarried Sons/ Daughters and Unmarried Brothers/Sisters living  in the same undivided family should have authorization  to run  the Fair Price Shop in the Goa State.

The applications should reach to the Office of the Mamlatdar of Bardez- Goa, on or before January 30, 2013.

RULES FOR THE USE OF GOVERNMENT MOTOR VEHICLES AMENDED

Panaji, January 08, 2013 …. The Government  has amended with immediate effect the ‘Rules for the  use of Government Motor Vehicles of the Government of Goa’.

In rule 26 of the Principal Rules for the use of Government Motor Vehicles of the Government of Goa, and  its amendments issued vide Notification dated 15/11/1990 shall be substituted as under: “26- The Secretaries  to Government, Heads of Department and other Officers authorized under Rule 43 are permitted to use the vehicle for private purposes also, if they so desires, subject to the condition that an amount of Rs. 500/- per month is compulsorily  deducted from their salary and fuel should not exceed quota allotted/sanctioned. Further, the exhausting fuel quota should  also not be an excuse for not performing official journeys.”

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN TO PREVENT WATERBORNE AND FOODBORNE INFECTIONS IN VIEW OF CONTAMINATION OF WATER

Panaji, January 08, 2013 ….. In view of the contamination of water distribution lines at Cortim-Mala-Fontainhas, though the situation is brought under control by PWD, it is still  advisable to take necessary precautions by the public to prevent Waterborne and Foodborne infections viz Typhoid, Diarrhoea, Cholera, Viral Hepatitis etc.

Common symptoms of these infections are Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Loose Motions, Jaundice, Abdominal Pain and Fatigue.

These diseases are easily preventable and general public is requested to take following measures for prevention.  Good personal hygiene is the single most important preventive measure; Consumption of boiled water i.e. water should be boiled for atleast  2C min  before consumption; Consume freshly cooked food; Do not consume water, milkshakes, fruit juices and eatables from roadside vendors; Maintain cleanliness  in surrounding and do not throw garbage in open; Never do self-medication or take medicines directly from chemist shop.  Medicines should always  be taken after getting proper advice from a qualified doctor.

All cases with above mentioned symptoms should immediately report  to the nearest  Health Centre or Physician.

Speaking further Shri Phaldesai said, E – Governance creates ways for transparency, cost reduction, instant response and productive output to the citizens in the state. The Goa Government has taken up this project on war footing in order to bring the various government schemes to the doorstep of the people, he added.
