Girish Chodankar should stop acting sadist says Goa BJP Media Cell Convenor Sandesh Sadhale

Panjim: Congress leader Mr. Girish Chodankar should stop acting sadist by releasing the media statement against government when the country is reeling under pandemic.

The demand of Mr Chodankar seeking resignation of Hon’ble Health Minister Mr. Vishwajit Rane alleging failure of the health system is a ‘sadist’ move.

Congress has completely lost its ground in the state. The results of elections have shown that the Congress is buried deep down the Earth by the voters. The Congress party can never see a victory again in Goa.

If Mr Chodankar feels that by issuing such sadist statements, he will get the support for his party, than he is absolutely wrong.

BJP-led government has put up Health Infrastructure in a record time. No one expected that the pandemic of this magnitude would strike the state.

Right from supplies of Oxygen to creating additional bed capacity, the team of government led by Hon’ble CM Dr Pramod Sawant and Hon’ble Health Minister Mr Vishwajit Rane have been working round-the-clock.

When Mr Chodankar is sleeping peacefully at his home, the government machinery is working to save lives.

The statements of Mr Chodankar could be demoralizing for the frontline workers and covid warriors, who are risking their lives.

Mr Chodankar should know that such statement makes him look like a clown , than a real leader. Let us all come together n fight I appeal all opposition respected leaders to come forward n help govt & people

Goans have faith in BJP-led government which has been providing all the facilities to save maximum lives.come let’s come together to fight this war n win over corona

Youth Congress launches vehicles to pickup COVID patients & carry Oxygen cylinders

PANAJIM 8 May 2021: The Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, expanding its services to help COVID patients, on Friday launched two vehicles to pickup COVID patients from Homes and to carry Oxygen Cylinders in hospitals.

The leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, GPYC President Adv. Varad Mardolkar, Congress leader Joel Andrade, YC gen secretary
Archit Naik, North District President Vivek D’Silva, Mapusa President.Himanshu Tivrekar and others were present on the occasion. The launching of vehicles held in Panaji, near Congress House.

Margao MLA Digambar Kamat praised the work of Youth Congress, saying they are helping people during the tough times. “Goa is reeling into COVID crisis, but the BJP government has made no efforts to ease and control the situation. Many senior citizens are looking for help to visit hospitals, as they have no one to take their care. In this case, Youth Congress has become a ray of hope.” Kamat said.

Kamat said that saving the lives of people should be priority, in this COVID situation.

Chodankar said that Youth Congress has set an example of humanity by providing Oxygen to people irrespective of political affiliations. “Youth Congress has helped many supporters from other political parties. Our motto is to save the lives of people.” He said.

Chodankar has appealed to people to help the initiative of Youth Congress to break the chain of COVID.

Youth Congress has given a breath of life to many patients in the last fifteen days, by providing them Oxygen Cylinders at hospitals, as the government failed to arrange the required capacity of Oxygen in the hospitals. “The failure of this insensitive BJP government to arrange Oxygen was exposed by a team of doctors, who were helpless due to non-availability of the same. When we tried to provide Oxygen cylinders to the patients, this same incapable government harassed us by summoning us at police stations to enquire about from where we purchased these cylinders.” GPYC President Adv. Varad Mardolkar lamented.

“If this government is allergic to seeing Congress working for the people and COVID patients, then it should itself make efforts to cater people’s demand and if BJP can’t perform then it should accept it. They have no right to play with the lives of the people.” Mardolkar said.

Adv. Mardolkar said that this vehicle is launched with the purpose that Oxygen cylinders could be transported safely and systematically. “People can call us at our helpline numbers and we will try to reach at earliest to the hospital where the patient is admitted. Our motto is to give breath of life to patients and save their lives.” He said.

Apart from this, Youth Congress has also launched vehicle to pick up poor and needy patients, also senior citizens, from homes and take them to hospitals for early treatment. “Recently we received many calls saying ambulances are not available and hence to make arrangements for vehicles, which we did while attending such calls. But now we felt to have special vehicle for this cause. Presently this vehicle service will be available for North Goa and later we will expand it in South Goa.” Mardolkar said.

Adv. Mardolkar said that there are many families who don’t have vehicles and hence find it difficult to reach hospitals. “We will sanitize the vehicle after every use and will try to give good service.” He said.

A COHESIVE & VIBRANT STARTUP ECOSYSTEM IN GOA

Panaji:- July 8, 2020 ::: Post Covid19, Goa was the first Indian State which provided direct financial assistance and support to Certified Startups in terms of grants and incentives. These funds have been disbursed through various schemes which are notified under the Goa Startup Policy 2017. There are 14 different schemes for Startups such as Seed Capital Scheme, Salary Reimbursement Scheme, Reimbursement Scheme for charges/lease/expenses paid by Startups for Co-Working, Leased/Privately owned office spaces, etc.

Goa Startup Policy was launched by the late Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar. The policy was formulated with an objective of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the Goan population. The purpose was to support Entrepreneurs and Startups, which will take Goa on the path of new economic development and generate local employment opportunities. Carrying the same ethos, under the leadership of  Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Government during this pandemic time, have given a cumulative assistance amounting to Rs. Rs 41,68,631.00 to 13 Startups.

Around 50+ out of the 88 registered Startups have received financial and non-financial assistance from the State Government. According to Department of Information Technology, the startups which had applied for various incentives through the Goa State Startup portal were scrutinized and put forth for approval of the High Powered Committee. Only in the case of Seed Capital Funds, the applicants were invited to pitch before a Panel of Experts which included startup ecosystem enablers from the industry, academia, incubators and investors; the Startups approved and selected by this Panel of Experts were also placed before the High- Powered Committee. The High-Powered Committee comprised of the Chief Minister, Minister for Information Technology, Chief Secretary, Secretary (IT), Secretary (Industries) and 4 nominated personnel from the industry. Only after approval from the High Powered Committee are any incentives disbursed to the applicants.

The Minister for Information Technology, Smt. Jennifer Monserrate updated that the Government of Goa has disbursed financial incentives to the tune of Rs 92,98,717.00 till date under the Goa Startup Policy 2017 to 21 Goa Startups. Out of this Rs 77,92,135 total has been disbursed to cumulative 19 Start-ups in the last 9 months. These funds have been disbursed as per the various financial incentives & schemes notified under the Startup Policy – 2017.

During these turbulent times, the State Government realized the need to encourage startups and has acted decisively as well. In another attempt to promote the Startups in the State, the State Government has recently adopted the General Financial Rules – 2017 (GFR – 2017). Adoption of GFR – 2017 would be a boon to the Startups as it eases public procurement norms for Startups (ex. relaxation for registered Startups on clauses of turnover, prior experience and Ernest Money Deposit (EMD)). Startup can even offer their products/services on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal launched by Government of India. GeM is game changing the way Government and Government undertakings are sourcing products, services and solutions and it is envisaged that the Startups will hugely benefit from the same.

The Government of Goa hopes that extending such assistance will foster the Goa Startups’ to emerge “Better and Stronger” after this Covid 19 pandemic.
