POWER SHUT DOWN on December 18th 2012

Panaji, December 18, 2012 …. A power shut down has been arranged on December 20, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at Chandradeep Mini Pillar.  Areas affected are Chandradeep building Neptune hotel, Chandelkar sho and surrounding areas.

On December 21, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at Angleys feeder Pillar.  Areas affected are New Punjab hotel, Hindu Farmacia, Barne creation, M/s Champs, Baba travels, Hotel Aroma, new Sher-E-Punjab hotel Angley sports shop and surrounding areas.

And on December 22, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at Directors of Accounts 630 KVA and 200 KVA and Souza transformer.  Areas affected are Civil District Court, Director of Accounts, Dangui Shop, Bridge stone shop, Damodar Mangalgi Office, National Club, Sinari shop, Vinanti hotel, La Capital Hotel, Manerkar shop, office of the Sales Tax Commissioner, Souza tower, Velho felho building, George bar and restaurant, Panaji Church, Progress High School, Jesuit house and surrounding areas.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on December 20, 2012 from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at 400KVA La Campala transformer centre for repairs and maintenance work.  Areas affected are La-Capala, Magsons and near by surrounding areas.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on December 20, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at Sapana transformer centre near Panaji Mosque for replacing of transformer.  There will be no power supply to Sapana centre, Panaji Mosque, Datta Prasad Bldg. Menino Regency, Kundaikar Nagar, Church view building, Pelicon Apartment, BSNL office, Old Municipal building, Domino Pizza, Jhon Pual building, Red Cross Society, Shaik Hussan Shop, Hassan building near National theater and surrounding areas.

THE LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF MACHINERY REGISTRATION FORM IS DEC. 31ST , 2012

Panaji, December 18, 2012 ….   The Truck business Committee held its second meeting on February 17, 2013.  The Committee had received representation from machine owners addressed to Hon’ble Chief Minister, hence the committee decided to consider the same and give a time frame for submitting the details of machinery involved in mining business of iron ore.  The last date for submission of Forms is December 31, 2012.

The Truck Registration Forms can be used as Machinery Registration Forms which can be freely downloaded from website www.goadmg.gov.in.

The duly filled forms can be submitted in the office of the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Udyog Bhavan, 2nd Floor, Near Azad Maidan, Panaji, Goa or can be submitted to Goa Electronic Limited (GEL) EDC House, Panaji, Goa.

POWER SHUT DOWN

Panaji, December 17, 2012 …   A power shut down has been arranged on December 20, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. at 11KV Mandrem Feeder.  Areas affected are Junaswada and surrounding areas in V. P. Mandrem.

And on December 21, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at 11KV Morjim Feeder.  Areas affected are Vithaldaswada and surrounding areas in V. P. Morjim.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on December 24, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at 33KV Sanvordem Feeder (Ponda to Dharbandora section).  Areas affected are 33KV Consumers at Usgao and 33/11 KV Dharbandora Sub Station.

 Newly erected 11KV S/c line tapped from 11KV Sesa Goa feeder of Sancaole Sub station to newly erected 3nos 200KVA transformer centre near MES College for releasing power supply to Aqua Bay Project has been charged recently and will remain charged thereafter, hence the general members of public are hereby advised not to come in contact with their own interest as it is highly dangerous to human life and property.

    Applications for a new Fair Price Shop at Betalbatim in Salcete Taluka are invited by the office of the Mamlatdar of Salcete from the interested parties of the following categories.

All the above categories should fulfill the conditions of the guidelines issued by the government and they should be  financially sound having spacious  premises to run the Fair Price Shop, they should produce necessary evidence in support of their financial position premises, educational qualification, registration of name in the Employment exchanges, if any.

The educated unemployed has  to have Passed S.S.C  Certificated from any recognized school in Goa Daman and Diu by the Goa Board and must be  in the age group of 18-35 years so also the member of the Co-op society of the educated unemployed.

The interested parties  should  submit their applications to the Mamlatdar of  Salcete Civil Supplies Wing before December 31, 2012 with all the above  required details  the application received after the stipulated time limit will not be entertained.

Punjab and Sind Bank offers ADHAR ACCOUNT

 

14-December-2012 … The Panaji branch of Punjab and Sind Bank will be offering Adhar Accounts for direct credit in the accounts of beneficieries of various subsidies like scholarships, MGNREGA payments, pensions, school fees and schemes announced by the state and central governments. With every Adhar account the bank will provide free ATM/ Debit cards and no minimum balance is required. Account can be opened just by providing a copy of Adhar Card and one photograph.

INAUGURATION OF RED RIBBON CLUB HELD AT HOLY TRINITY HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, BENAULIM

Panaji, December 12, 2012 ….. dudhsagar entry fees The Red Ribbon Club of Holy Trinity Higher Secondary School, Benaulim was inaugurated on December 7, 2012 by the advisory committee.  The program was started with a brief introduction by Teacher Hipssy Almeida.

Ms. Jennifer Fernandes, from Cansaulim Centre explained the meaning of Red Ribbon Symbol.  It is the Universal Symbol showing that you care.  She informed the students about the National Aids Control Organization in Goa and its funders and the various Aids Care and treatment centres in Goa.  She further told the students about the mission of Aids and explained the four aims are to Equip one self with correct information on HIV/AIDS, to encourage Peer Educators to spread awareness, to promote Voluntary blood donation, to help reduce stigma and discrimination of PLHIVs in the society.

Thereafter Mrs. Karishma Kerkar (Health Officer from Cansaulim centre) also spoke on HIV and AIDs.  A meaningful Power Point presentation of informative slides was shown to students.  The slides displayed the four known routes of HIV transmission, how to prevent Aids, signs and symptoms of Aids, Aids scenario in Goa, etc.

Ms. Jennifer Fernandes further speaking insist that it is the responsibility of the students to protect themselves from Aids and that Prevention is better than Cure, She advised the students to practice healthy behavior.

This was followed by Questionnaire session which cleared many doubts of the students.  Principal, Mrs. Isabel Juliana Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.

Protection of Street Vendors

Dec-11-2012 … The Government is contemplating to bring a Central Legislation to give livelihood rights and social security to vendors and hawkers in the cities/towns. The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of street Vending) Bill, 2012 was introduced in Lok Sabha on 6th September, 2012. Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha has referred the Bill to the Standing Committee on Urban Development for examination. This was stated by Shri Ajay Maken, Union Minister of Housing places to visit in goa for youngsters & Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA), in the Lok Sabha today, in a written reply to a question by Shri L. Raja Gopal, Shri S.S. Ramasubbu, Shri Sugumark K, Shri S. Alagiri & Shri Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhao.

The Minister stated that support of urban street vendors has been proposed as a component under the proposed National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). This component would aims at credit enablement, micro-enterprise development support and skilling of poor street vendors in urban areas of the country.

Regarding the action plan to check any kind of harassment to this section at the hands of the police and civic officials, the Minister stated that Clause 29 of Chapter IX of the proposed “Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending ) Bill,2012”, provides that no street vendor who carries on the street vending activities in accordance with the terms and conditions of his certificate of vending shall be prevented from exercising such rights by any person or police or any other authority exercising powers under any other law for the time being in force.

SCHEME TO ELEVATE LIVING CONDITIONS OF WEAKER SECTION -SHRI ARLEKAR

Panaji, December 10, 2012 …..  Speaker of Goa  Legislative Assembly, Shri Rajendra Arlekar has said that the Government proposes to prepare  a scheme for taking up  various developmental projects  under  special component plan  in  Scheduled caste communities  areas for overall development of weaker section  of the society.

Elaborating  on the proposed  scheme  Shri Arlekar said that for this purpose, funds will be made available  from two percent  budgetary  allocation   made by the state and Central Government through  its  Government departments and undertaking agencies under special component plan to undertake various programmes for upliftment of  weaker section.

Shri Arlekar was speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of 56th death anniversary of  the  Architect  of Indian Constitution  Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at a function organized by All Goa  Dalit  Mahasangha in the city, yesterday.

Speaking further the Speaker paid rich tributes to Dr. Ambedkar  and   stressed on the need  for youth should imbibe in them the principles and teachings of Dr. Ambedkar   and  take  inspiration from  his life, , mission, ideas and qualities and accordingly  channelize   their energies to spread the message and teachings of  Dr.Ambedkar  to  the masses. This he said will help to build up a strong  and modern India.

Speaker presented the scholarships to meritorious  students of SSC,HSSC and graduation for the academic year 2011-12 on the occasion.

Shri Anand Amonkar, Senior Tabla  artist and Shri Narayan Khurjuvenkar , a poet  were  felicitated  at the hands of  Shri. Arlekar.  They were offered shawl and  sriphal.   A Souvenir  entitled “Sawali” brought out by All  Goa  Dalit Mahasangha  was  released by the Speaker on the occasion.

Smt. Nutan Sunil Shirke, Social Worker also spoke on the occasion.

Shri Ashok  Parwar, President of All Goa Dalit Mahasangha welcomed the gathering.  Shri Siddesh Pednekar proposed the vote of thanks.  Shri Khemudas  Parwar  compered the function.

Earlier, the Speaker and other dignitaries offered floral tributes to  Dr. Ambedkar on the occasion.
