ADMISSIONS TO 50% STATE QUOTA POST GRADUATE DEGREE AND DIPLOMA AT GMC

Panaji, 1st March, 2019 …Goa Medical College has informed that applications are invited from eligible candidates who have obtained their Permanent Registration with Medical Council of India / State Medical Council and have appeared for NEET-PG 2019 for admissions to 50% State Quota Post Graduate Degree and Diploma seats (in case not converted to Degree seats by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi) of Goa University at Goa Medical College for the academic year 2019-20. Admissions shall be on the basis of Rules and Regulations notified by the Government. Series I No.51 dated  March 21, 2005 along with  Series I No.50 dated  March 11, 2004,  Series I No. 32 dated November 10, 2016 and Gazette of India No. 51 dated February 5, 2019  and by Bond implementation will be as per Government Gazette series I No.36 dated December 8, 2015 which is also likely to be revised.

It is further stated that the permitted PG Degree seats that are offered from academic year 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2018  are as per the directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

5% of PG Seats are allocated to Persons with Disability (PwD) Candidates fulfilling the MCI criteria.

Time schedule for completion of Counseling-cum-Admission for 50% Post Graduate seats under State Quota is as follows: Date of Inviting applications March 1, 2019. Last date of receipt of applications      March 19, 2019 by 5.00pm. Display of Provisional Merit list March 26, 2019 (Medical College Notice Board) Display of Final Merit list March 28, 2019 (Medical College Notice Board) First round of Counseling-Cum-Admission       April 1, 2019. Last date for joining the allotted course after 1st round April 12, 2019. Second round of Counseling-Cum-Admission April 25, 2019. Last date for joining the allotted course after 2nd  round May 3, 2019. Commencement of Academic Session/Term May 1, 2019, Mop up Round May 8, 2019 and Last date for joining the allotted course after Mop up Round May 12, 2019.

The Schedule is as per Order of Supreme Court of India and the Gazette of India and is subject to change upon subsequent Orders (if any) from Court. Additional Post Graduate Admission rounds may be held at short notice upon Orders from higher regulatory authorities. Hence applicants are requested to follow College Notice Board and website regularly.

ADDITIONAL 10 MLD WATER SUPPLY TO PONDA AND MARCAI: SHRI SUDIN DHAVLIKAR

Panaji, February 28, 2019 …Additional 10 MLD water will be supplied to Ponda and Marcai areas to augment water supply through Opa Dam in next 15 days disclosed Minister for PWD Shri Sudin Dhavlikar after inaugurating the Vehicular Underpass at Kapileshwari junction and commissioning of road on Kashimath and Kapileshwari underpass on NH-17B (No.566) in Goa (Dhavli Bypass) at a function held at Kapileshwari, Ponda recently.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament for South Goa, Shri Narendra Sawaikar, MP Rajya Sabha,  Shri Vinay Tendulkar, Smt. Chitra Phadte, ZP Member, Shri Rajesh Kavlekar, Sarpanch Kavalem, Shri Pradeep Naik, Chairperson Ponda Municipal Council, Smt. Saloni Gaude, Dy. Sarpanch Bandora among other dignitaries.

          Stating that the pace of developmental works in the state including at Ponda has been accelerated be it of construction of roads, augmentation of water supply, sewerage project and construction of bridges Shri Dhavlikar said in order to complete these works at stipulated time period the Co-operation of elected representatives of local self government bodies is of utmost importance.

          Shri Dhavlikar said all the roads in the jurisdiction of Ponda city will be provided with hotmix carpet within two months time after commencement of work in last week of April. He said, the tendering process for hot mix carpeting of all roads in Ponda has already been started.

            Shri Dhavlikar listed the various ongoing projects being executed under PWD in the state and added further saying that most of the projects will be completed by June 2019.  He also informed that the refurbishment and beautification of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Fort at Farmagudi will be taken up to make it of touristic importance. The work of first phase will commence by June 2019 he said.

          Shri Narendra Savoikar, Shri Vinay Tendulkar, both MP’s, Smt. Chitra Phadte and Shri Rajesh Kavlekar, Sarpanch lauded the developmental work being taken up by the Goa Government in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar.

GOA NURSING COUNCIL ELECTION ON APRIL 15

Panaji, February 27, 2019 ….Goa Nursing Council will be conducting election of members to the council on April 15, 2019.

 An election will be held of members of the Goa Nursing Council to be elected by various categories of registered nursing personnel namely, principals of colleges conferring degree in nursing, faculty conferring degree in nursing, faculty conferring diploma in auxiliary nursing midwifery, members of the Trained Nurses Association of India (Goa Branch), Registered nurses, has been prepared in accordance with the Goa Nursing Council Rules, 2014 and copies of the roll will be available for inspection and/or sale at the office of the Council at the address of the Council.

Every claim for inclusion of name in the roll; or every objection to —, the inclusion of any other person’s name in the roll, any particulars in any entry in the roll shall be addressed to the Registrar and shall be presented to him/her at the address to below so as to reach him/her on or before March 16, 2019.

Goa nursing council has informed that nomination of registered nursing personnel eligible to fill the seat/seats are invited and forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the Registrar on application.

Complete  nomination paper may be sent  to the Returning Officer on or before 4.00 pm on March 4, 2019 at Goa Nursing Council Office Bambolim.

Candidate are can be withdrawn by a notice in writing signed by the candidate and delivered to the Returning Officer to reach him/her on or before 4.00 pm on March 14, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

 Objections, if any are to reach the Returning Officer on or before 4.00 pm on March 12, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

The list of contesting candidates shall be displayed on the notice board in the office of the Council at 10.00 a.m on March 16, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

In the event of the election being contested: The election will be held at 8.00 am on April 15, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim and the voters will be taken up for scrutiny and counting at 3.30 pm on April 15, 2019 at the Goa Nursing Council, Bambolim.

NORTH GOA MP COMPLETES 1000 PROJECTS MPLADS

Panaji, February 26, 2019 …  Union Minister and North Goa MP Shri Shripad Naik said that around 1000 projects have been completed during his present term as an Member of Parliament. Shri Naik was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for work of Development and Beautification of pathway and fixing of interlock pavers at Vishwasnagar, Lamgao in Bicholim taluka.

Also present at the occasion were Shri Rajesh Patnekar, MLA, Shir Rajaram Gaonkar, Chairperson of Bicholim Municipal Council, Shri Dattaguri Pal, Vice Chairperson, Shri Vivek Naik, Chief Officer, Shri Sudan Govekar, Councillor, Shri Vallabh Salkar and other graced the occasion.

Speaking further Shri Naik said, that for him was mission to take up   politics is a source for social development. He has cautiously utilized the funds allotted to him for the public development in North Goa, he added.

Earlier foundation stone for erection of street light at Lamgao and development of open space at Housing Board Colony in Bicholim was laid down at the hands of the Union Minister.

AYUSH MINISTER REVIEWS CENTRALLY SPONSORED SCHEMES

Panaji, February 25, 2019 …. Union Minister of  State (I.C.) for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Naik recently chaired the second Meeting of the District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) ‘DISHA’, North Goa District for the financial year 2018-19.

While addressing the members, the Minister said that the DDCMC ‘DISHA’ is constituted at the District Level to function as an important instrument for the effective monitoring and implementation of all the programmes sponsored by the Government of India. One of the major objectives of ‘DISHA’ is to play a crucial role to all the members of Parliament, elected representatives of the State, District Block and village Panchayat level for the implementation of these programmes so that the schemes are executed in a effective manner and the benefits reach the needy and deserving masses.

Shri Naik sought the co-operation of all the members of the Committee to function effectively. Shri Naik reviewed various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by various Government Departments in the State.

Present at the meeting were Private Secretary to Union Minister of State (I.C.) for AYUSH, Shri Swapnil Naik, IAS and Additional Collector I, Shri Vikas Gaunekar among others.

GOA TO GET MEDICAL MOBILE UNITS SOON: VISHWAJEET RANE

Panaji, February 24, 2019  .. Launching of Medical Mobile Units (MMUs) in the state of Goa will be the top priority of state Government said the Health Minister Shri Vishwajeet Rane. He was speaking at Usgaon after laying foundation stone for proposed beautification work of Usgaon recently.

Elaborating on the new concept of Medical Mobile Units, Shri Rane said, the key strategy of MMU is to facilitate access to public health care particularly to people living in remote and unreached areas. The main objective of this concept is to take healthcare to the doorstep of peoples, particularly rural, vulnerable and under-served areas. MMU services are envisaged to meet the technical and service quality standards for a Primary Health Centre through provision of a suggested package of service, the Minister added.

Others present on the occasion were, Shri Dnyaneshwar Naik, ZP Member, Ms. Asmita Gaude, Sarpanch VP Usgaon Ganjem, Shri Ramnath Dangui, Deputy Sarpanch, Shri Sripad Walawalkar, Manager, GSIDC, Shri Vijaykumar Sawant, Consultant of the beatification project and Panchayat Members graced the occasion.

Speaking further Health Minister said, beautification helps  tourism entity grow by attracting more visitors.

The beautification work includes illumination of the road with decorative street lights poles form Usgaon bridge to Tisk Usgaon circle towards Ganjem and Usgaon circle towards Khandepar. Beautification of Usgaon circle by hard landscaping, construction of pathways in 11 wards at important locations and other.
The estimated cost of the project is of Rs. 22, 26, 06,010/-.

SHRI. TENDULKAR INAUGURATES CHANGING ROOM BLOCK FOR CRICKET GROUND OF GU

Panaji, February 23, 2019 ..Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shri. Vinay Tendulkar recently inaugurated Outdoor Stadium changing room for Cricket Ground of Goa University under MPLAD Scheme at Taligao Plateau.

Shri. Tendulkar expressed happiness on the design of the building and facilities made available in the Outdoor Stadium changing room for Cricket Ground.

Shri. Nishikar Raut Desai former General Secretary of Student Council 2017-18, Goa University expressed happiness as the changing room for Cricket Ground is made available for the students Under MPLAD Scheme.

This building has spectators stand with 200 seating capacity and Pavilion with area of 50 seating capacity. Building accommodates two changing rooms, two toilets blocks, one office and store room.

SPECIAL CAMPS FOR ENROLLMENT ON FEB 23 & 24

Panaji, February 22, 2019 .. The general public are informed that the Election Commission of India has organized special camps on February 23 and 24, 2019 at every polling station for enrolment of left out eligible voters.

The commission keeping in view of the impending general election to Lok Sabha, 2019 and in order to provide further opportunity in campaign mode to all unenrolled eligible persons to get their names registered in the electoral rolls during continuous updation period, so that they are not deprived of voting at lections. Booth level Officers (BLOs) will remain present in the camps along with the copies of final electoral rolls, 2019.

BETTER QUALITY FOOD AT GMC SOON: VISHWAJEET RANE

Panaji:  February 21, 2019 …“An elected representative should use his/her powers for positive development of the society and its people,” Minister for Health Shri. Vishwjeet Rane said after laying the foundation stone for proposed Panchayat building at Village Panchayat (VP) Keri in Sattari, recently.

The estimated cost of the proposed work is of Rs. 2, 14, 75, 443, 00/- and will be built under the ‘Deendayal Panchayat Raj Infrastructure Development (Golden Jubilee) Scheme’.

Present on the occasion were Shri Fati Gaonkar, ZP Member, Shri Govind Gauns, Sarpanch V.P. Keri, Smt. Rukmini Gauns, Dy. Sarpanch, Shri Walawalkar, Manager, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), Shri Gurudatt Sanzgiri, Project Consultant, Shri Vinod Shinde and other Panchayat members.

Speaking further Shri Rane said that the Government will soon provide nutritious and quality food to the patients at Goa Medical College (GMC), similar to its private counterparts. “Government is planning to spend more than Rs. 12 to 14 Crore annually on such exercise,” he added.

The Health Minister appealed to the locals to have faith in him and said that the Government has always believed in giving back to society by organizing community development programmes in areas like health, education, governance etc.

Shri Fati Gaonkar, ZP Member and Shri. Laxman Gauns, former Sarpanch also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Sarpanch Shri. Gauns welcomed the guests. Shri Laxman Majik compered and proposed the vote of thanks. The Panchayat project includes a waiting area for visitors, shops and a Multipurpose Hall with a capacity of 600 people.

SEMINAR ON KONKANI CONCLUDES

Panaji :February 20, 2019 … “After Konkani language received recognition and was included in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution and also recognition from the literary body in India, Konkani made steady progress,” said Shri Shantaram Varde Valaulikar, well known Konkani writer while delivering a talk at the concluding session of the two-day seminar organised on the occasion of the Silver jubilee of the Inclusion of Konkani in the 8th Schedule of Indian Constitution held at the Multipurpose Hall, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto.

          Stressing on the need for Konkani to be used widely in homes and administration, Shri Valaulikar added, “Earlier they used to be Konkani camps (Shibirs) where pertinent issues were discussed and effective solutions reached at through these discussions. People participated without any religious or political party bias. There is a need to have more such camps again so that challenges faced by Konkani can be discussed and be solved with effective solutions.”

          The seminar was organised by the Sahitya Academy, Goa in association with Directorate of Higher Education and Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola. Participants from Goa and neighbouring states attended the seminar.  At the seminar, those who presented papers reviewed the literacy and linguistic scenario of Konkani after its inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution from 1992 till date and discussed the future course of action for the enrichment of Konkani Language and Literature.

          Some of the sessions held at the seminar included ‘National Recognition Movement of Konkani- a Review’ , ‘Benefits of inclusion of Konkani in  the Eighth Schedule, Expectations and Reality. ‘Konkani at National Level, today and Tomorrow’ ,‘Eighth Schedule and Konkani with respect to Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra’, ‘Contribution of Literacy and Linguistic Institutions to Konkani  and ‘Konkani Language, Literature Education and Culture, towards a bright future’.
