Panaji: November 2, 2018 In Panaji Centre for the week ending October 23, 2018, in wholesale,  the prices of moong decreased by Rs.100/- to Rs.200/- per quintal. Parboiled rice outside, wheat Khandya, maida, potatoes, onions increased by Rs. 80/-, Rs.15/- to Rs. 50/-, Rs. 20/- to Rs.60/-, Rs.500/- to Rs.600/-  per  quintal respectively  and eggs large by Rs. 30/- per 100 nos during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like raw rice common, wheat shivri, turdal barshi, moongdal, gramdal, gram kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Ruchi”, rawa, green peas, tomatoes, chillies green and bananas (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

        In the retail, the prices of onion increased by Rs.5/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs.4/- dozen dozen during the week.

         The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal barashi, moongdal, gramdal, moong, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes tomatoes, Chillies green and bananas (Vassai)  remained steady during the week.

The increase and decrease in wholesale price and increase in retail prices were due to increase and decrease in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, jowar Shalu and coconut oil, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

308 Coop. Societies have been audited during the month of September 2018, Total Amount of Audit fees has been collected of Rs. 3, 81,256/- during the month of September 2018. 239 number of societies filed returns. Total Amount of filling fees collected is Rs 75,900/-.

An amount of loan recovered by the Co.op Bank and Other Institutions is Rs. 189.10 lakhs. An Amount of loan recovered by the Goa State Housing Finance and Federation Ltd is Rs. 38.99 lakhs.

 In September, 2018, 9,95,516.0 litres of milk from local and 2,00,677.0 litres of milk from outside State has been procured by Goa State Coop. Milk Producer’s Union Ltd, Curti, Ponda.

Panaji, October 30, 2018 … All the persons with benchmark Disabilities /NGO working for Person with Disabilities and State Government institution are informed that under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyajgan) Governing body of the National fund has developed detailed guidelines for providing financial assistance under the fund.

The activities for which funds will be provided are as under : to support Exhibition / Workshop to showcase the product including paintings, handicraft etch made by the PwDs., to support persons with benchmark disabilities who have excelled in sports or in fine arts/music /dance at the State level to particular in the National/International events.

Assistance from the fund for the same event can be granted only once to a PwD., to support certain exclusive needs of persons with high support needs as recommended by the Assessment Boards on specific recommendation by the States on case to case basis.

Eligibility : Any Government organization or an organization registered under Societies Act/Companies Act/Trust Act for a period not less than three years and has experience of not less than 2 years for organizing exhibition/workshops in marketing products/paintings.

Panaji, October 29, 2018 … The District Magistrate, North Goa has ordered the temporary closure of road from Panaji Market to D.B.B. Marg along INOX Complex for all types of vehicular traffic for the period from November 20, 2018 to November 28, 2018 on account of 49^th International Film Festival of India, 2018 subject to the following conditions :

The road should be suitably barricaded and Material used for the barricading the roads would be immediately removed and the road should be thrown open for vehicular flow as soon as the Film festival is over. Sufficient  traffic signages should be erected for the information of the motorists. The contractor shall deploy sufficient number of Traffic Marshals for guiding the motorists and shall put up “Road Closed” sign for the information of the motorists at appropriate places.

Panaji: October 29, 2018 … Minister for Panchayat, Shri Mauvin Godinho inaugurated the renovated Panchayat Building of Parcem, Pernem  in the distinguished presence of Shri Sidharth Kunkalienkar,Vice Chairman, GSIDC; Former Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar and Ex MLA Shri Dayanand Sopte at a function held at Parcem yesterday.

Speaking on the ocassion, Shri Godinho informed that  GSIDC has completed the renovation of the Panchayat Ghar of Parcem under Deendayal Panchayat Raj Infrastructure Development (Golden Jubilee) Scheme. He said funds provided to Panchayat for constructing panchayat building had been increased to Rs 3.5 crore from 2.5 crore out of which Rs 40 lakh will be reserved for maintainance of the building in the future.

Speaking further, Godinho reiterated that development is taking place in every corner of the  State at a fast pace. Every month atleast one panchayat ghar or rennovated panchayat ghar is been inaugurated which shows development is carried out in most of the panchayat. He appealed to the youths to take benefits of various self employment schemes provided by the  government.

Shri Laxmikant Parsekar addressing the gathering congratulated Smt. Pragati Prashant Sopte, Sarpanch, V.P. Parcem for her initiative to felicitate all the ex sarpanch who have contributed during their tenure on this ocassion.

Shri Sopte complimenting GSIDC  for constructing structure and upgrading the current structure said that the renovation of the hall was need of the hour for the village  as  it lacked the facility of a good hall to conduct any programmes and activities for the people.

Shri Sidharth Kunkalienkar appealed to all the villagers to keep the panchayat ghar clean and maintain it.

The highlights of the building is, its renovated Multipurpose hall, which can now cater to 400 people. Changing room and toilet facilities are also provided for the renovated hall. The Sarpanch’s Cabin, Meeting Room, Talathi Office, Primary Health Centre and toilets for office use on Ground floor have been renovated and refurbished with new furniture, storage and lighting.

Also present on the ocassion were Shri Arun Bandhkar, ZP Harmal; Shri Deepak Kalangutkar ,ex ZP of Korgaon;   Shri. Ajit Sagun Morajkar, Dy. Sarpanch, V.P. Margao:  October 28, 2018 … The Advisory Committee meeting under the PC-PNDT Act, South  Goa District  chaired by Additional Collector, Shri Agnelo Fernandes deliberating on the proposal of installing Active Trackers to monitor ultrasound machines felt that the matter needs to be decided by the State Level Committee.

 Shri Fernandes echoed with the observations of the Committee that the matter being a policy decision, should be presented at the State Level Committee by giving a presentation of its functioning, advantages and other aspects to understand the whole concept before coming to a conclusion of implementing it. 

 The District Level Committee maintained that the Inspection and Monitoring Committee regularly conducts inspections and surprise visits to all the clinics registered with the District apart from verifying the Form F that are submitted online with the records in the respective hospitals/clinics every quarter.  The Committee has also not across any violations of PC-PNDT rules in the district.

 In the meeting various applications with respect to granting of fresh registration, renewals of certificates, etc were considered after ensuring the compliance of due process.  The form F of the last two months submitted by all the registered hospitals/clinics was also monitored by the committee.

 Radiologists, Hospicio Hospital, Dr. Mohan Dhond; Gynecologist, Hospicio Hospital, Dr. Meenakshi Panandikar, Mamlatdar in Collectorate, Shri Jeetendra Bugde and Assistant Information Officer, Shri Allwyn Pereira  were the members of Advisory Committee who attended the meeting.
