GOA Press Accreditation Committee Meets ADG PIB

Panaji September 26, 2018 … The Press Accreditation Committee yesterday called on the Aditional Director General of Press Information Bureau Shri Nitin Wakankar, IIS, Additional Director at National Media Centre, New Delhi and held discussions on the matters relating to Press Accreditation and other issues.

Shri Wakankar apprised the committee with the help of power point presentation about the Press Accreditation Rules of the PIB and the facilities that are extended to the press persons.

The PAC Committee is headed by its Chairman Shri Raju Nayak. Member Secretary of the committee and Director of Information and  Publicity Shri T.S. Sawant, Information Officer ( Publicity) Shri John Aguiar, Editor of Goa Doot Shri Waman Prabhu, Shri Shyam Gaonkar, Shri Ganesh Shetkar, Shri Kailash Naik, Shri Kenzil Rodrigues, Shri Alfred Fernandes, Shri Sudakar Naik and Shri Sandip Dessai were present.

GOA PRESS ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE CALLED ON SECRETARY, (PUBLIC RELATION), GNCTD

New Delhi: September 26, 2018 … Goa Press Accreditation Committee recently called on Secretary (Public Relations), Government of NCT of Delhi, Dr. Jayadev Sarangi in his office to discuss the various facilities provided by the Delhi Government to media persons.

The  delegation consisted of 11 members including Chairman, Editor Lokmat Shri Raju Nayak, Director (I&P) Goa, Shri T.S. Sawant, Information Officer, Shri John Aguiar, Editir of Goa Doot Shri Waman Prabhu, Liasion Officer Shri Shyam Gaonkar and others from various media and Goa news organizations.

In the meeting, various issues concerning to facilities being provided to accredited journalists by the Directorate of Information and Publicity of Delhi Government like Medical facilities, Parking facility, Bus and Rail travel facility were discussed at large.

Dr. Jayadev Sarangi, Secretary (PR) opined that such type of interactions between two or more government Departments should take place on regular basis, as it would be helpful in bringing out more coherence in the government rules and policies adopted by different state governments for the welfare of Media persons.

He also informed the visiting delegation that keeping in view the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s guidelines on government advertisements this Directorate has adopted an SOP for ensuring government advertisement & as per SOP the concerned Head of Department has to issue a content verification certificate for publication of the advertisement. The certificate is to be duly signed by the concerned Head of Department before the publication of the advertisement.

All officers present in the meeting expressed their views and deliberated different matter related to govt. policies and programme with the Goa delegation. 

The members of the GPAC interacted with the officers and officials of the Directorate (I&P), GNCTD. The queries raised by the members about the press accreditation rules and other issues were also clarified by the officers of the Directorate. Shri Nalin Chauhan, Dy. COMPETITION ON BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO

Panaji, September 26, 2018  … To commemorate International Day of the Girl Child, which is celebrated annually on October 11 to highlight issues concerning the gender inequality, the State Family Welfare Bureau, Directorate of Health Services along the District Collectorate ,North and South Goa will organise the following various competition on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

For Government employees the competition are as follows: On October 6, 2018 Group Skit Competition will be held from 9.30 am onwards at Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall  at Panaji. The groups participating in the skit should have maximum of 8 to 10 participants and will be allowed a maximum of 8 to 10 minutes to perform. For the No Fire cooking competition, 2 male participants in each team will be permitted. For the Essay Writing competition, the topic will be ‘My daughter- My Pride. The essay should be submitted on an A4 size paper. The maximum word limit is 200 words and has to be submitted by September 26.

For students of Higher Secondary/College/ITI, the competition will be held on October 5. The Group  Skit Competition will be held from 9.30 am onwards at Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall  at Panaji. The Group skit competition will be for selected 12 groups from Taluka wise competition. 8 to 12 participants will have to be part of the skit and the time limit is 8 to 10 minutes.

For students of Higher Secondary/College/ITI taluka wise competitions will be held through UHC/CHC/PHC between September 21 to October 1 at the following places- CHC Pernem, Pernem, UHC Mapusa, Bardez,  PHC Bicholim, Bicholim, CHC Valpoi, Sattari, UHC Panaji, Panaji, UHC Vasco, Mormugao, PHC Ponda, Ponda, PHC Dharbandora, Dharbandora, PHC Sanguem, Sanguem, CHC Canacona, Canacona, PHC Balli, Quepem, UHC Margao, Salcete.

The first prize winners shall be chosen for the State level competition to be held on 5 October. The skit competitions for students will be held on October 5 from 9.30 a.m to 1.00 p.m and other competitions for Government employees will be held on October 6. The prize distribution will be done at the State level function on International Day of the Girl Child on October 11at the main hall of the Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall at Panaji.

NOMINATION FOR WITNESSING REPUBLIC DAY PARADE 2019 BY TRIBAL PERSON

Panaji, September 26, 2018 … Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi, Government of India invites two tribal representatives one male and female from the any of the Schedule Tribes members from backward Tribal Communities in the state to witness the Republic Day Parade and celebration, 2019 at New Delhi.

The Schedule Tribe person of Goa State whose age is not over sixty years and interested to witness Republic Day Parade 2019 at the New Delhi may submit their nomination in the Proforma given below to the Director, Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Shrama Shakti Bhavan, 5th Floor, Patto, Panaji Goa by September 28, 2018.

Name of the Tribal Applicant, Date of Birth/Age, Fathers Name, Mothers Name, Husbands/Wife’s name, full residential address, contact no, tribal to which he/she belongs (caste certificate to be enclosed)family annual income from all sources.

Only two person belonging to ST communities i.e one male and one female will be selected to  witness Republic Day Parade, 2019 at New Delhi. The selected person has to represent themselves in the Traditional Attires and is required to stay in Delhi from January 22, 2019 to February 2, 2019.

The expenditure on travel by second class railway from Goa to Delhi and back as well as food accommodation will be borne by State Government.       

MILIND NAIK AND NILESH CABRAL INDUCTED AS CABINET MINISTERS

Panaji, September 25, 2018 … MLAs Shri. Milind Naik and Shri. Nilesh Cabral were inducted in the Council of Ministers at a simple ceremony held at Darbar Hall ,Raj Bhavan, Donapaula yesterday.

Governor Dr. (Smt.) Mridula Sinha administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to both the Minister designate. Earlier Chief Secretary Shri. Dharmendra Sharma IAS, read the order of appointment.

WEEKLY REVIEW ON PRICES AND SUPPLY POSITION OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji, September 24, 2018 ….The statement of market price of important essential commodities  in Panaji Centre as intimated by the Registrar of Co-operative societies for the week ending August 21, 2018 is as follows.

In wholesale, the prices of raw rice common, wheat Shivri, moongdal, moong and potatoes decreased by Rs. 80/- to Rs. 200/-, Rs. 50/- Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/-, Rs. 200/- and Rs. 200/- to Rs. 600/- per quintal respectively. Maida and chillies green increased by Rs. 10/- to Rs. 160/- and Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 2,000/- per quintal respectively.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice outside, wheat Khandva, turdal Barshi, gramdal, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetables ghee “Ruchi”, rawa, green peas onions, tomatoes, eggs large and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

In retail, the prices of eggs large decreased by Rs. 2/- to Rs. 10/- per dozen. Rawa, green peas and chillies green increased by Rs. 2/- to Rs. 4/-, Rs. 10/- and Rs. 10/- to Rs. 20/- per kilo respectively during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, moongdal, gramdal, moong, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, maida, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

 The decreased and increased in wholesale and retail prices were due to decrease and increase in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

 The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local and jowar Shalu the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

DIRECTORATE OF PANCHAYAT TO ORGANIZE CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Panaji, September 23, 2018 …. The Goa Government participates in a nationwide Sanitation Campaign, Swachhata Hi Seva ‘SHS’ 2018 from September 15, 2018 to October 2, 2018 which aims at accelerating the Jan Andolan for realizing the vision of a clean India, further reinforcing the principle that ‘Sanitation is everyone’s business’.

The Directorate of Panchayat will organize cleanliness drive on September 24, 2018 from 11.30 a.m onwards in the premises and vicinity of Junta House along with all other Departments located in Junta House for realizing the vision of Clean India and to make the campaign a great success.

The officers/officials/staffs of various Departments will be participating in the cleanliness drive/shramdaan activity on September 24, 2018 followed with Swatchta pledge to be administrated by Smt. R. Menaka IAS, Director of Municipal Administration.

The Directorate of Panchayat has appealed to all the Departments to actively participate in the said drive in order to make the SHS campaign a great success.

GOVERNOR TO LAUNCH PRADHAN MANTRI JAN AROGYA YOJANA ON SEPT 23

Panaji, September 22, 2018 … The Governor will launch Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)on September 23, 2018 at 11.30 am at Dr. S. Z. Quasim Auditorium, NIO, Dona Paula.

Union Minister of State for Aayush (IC) Shri Sripad Naik, Minister for Public Work Department Shri Ramkrishna Dhavlikar, Minister for Town and Country Planning Shri Vijay Sardesai, Minister for Revenue Shri Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Art and Culture Shri Govind Gaunde, Minister for Health Shri Vishwajeet Rane, Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Sawaikar, Member of Rajyasabha, Shri Vinay Tendulkar and others will grace the function.

State Health Agency has been created under National Health Mission/Goa State Health Society. Total of 36539 families Rural 21371 and Urban: 15168 are Eligible for PMJAY for Goa. List of all these eligible population is available at respective Panchayats and Health Units under Directorate of health services.

Currently to start with 4 Hospitals i.e. GMC, Both District Hospitals and Sub District Hospital, Ponda has been already empanelled and are ready for launch. Subsequently other Public hospitals as well as Private Hospitals will be registered and empanelled.

All the 447 procedures under DDSSY will be also available at empanelled private hospitals under PMJAY at same rates prescribed under DDSSY. Accordingly final package list consist of 1509 and all these packages will be available under PM-JAY at public hospitals.  Arogya Mitra been identified and trained for all 4 Empanelled Hospitals.

Arogya Mitra is the first point of contact for the beneficiaries to avail any services at empanelled hospitals & will be available at DDSSY/PMJAY kiosk at these hospitals. Beneficiaries to contact Arogya Mitras even for registration and generating E-Card or Golden record.  

TOURISM MINISTER DISTRIBUTES SANCTION LETTERS OF LADLI LAXMI

Panaji, September 22, 2018 …. Minister for Tourism Shri Manohar Alias Babu Azgaonkar distributed sanction letter of Ladli Laxmi Scheme to 30 beneficiaries from Pernem Taluka at a function held at Pernem recently.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Azgaonkar said irrespective of income, scheme like Ladli laxmi have eased the financial burden.The financial help is also to ensure that a girl´s marriage is not be a burden on parents he said  

Shri Azgaonkar also praised Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar for launching various schemes like Griha adhar, Dayanand Social Security scheme and also appealed to pray for the speedy recovery of the Chief Minister.Various upcoming projects like Ayush Hospital, International Stadium, Mopa airport, Ravindra Bhavan will help in generating employment to the locals of Pernem he added.
