There will be a power shutdown on May 29, 2026 from 9.30 am to 1 pm on 200 KVA Bella Vista-I DTC Feeder, Porvorim to carry out maintenance work. Areas affected are Bella Vista-I, Gautam Hotel and surrounding areas. Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on May 30, 2026 on 200 KVA Bella Vista-II DTC Feeder, Porvorim from 9.30 am to 1 pm. Areas affected are Bella Vista-II and surrounding areas.

Goan Reporter:DM SOUTH PROHIBITS FLYING OF DRONES, UAVs ON MAY 29- 30 IN SOUTH GOA

District Magistrate, South has  prohibited aerial photography, aerial videography and the flying or operation of any Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/ drones in any form within a radius of 02 kilometers of Dabolim International Airport, Mormugao from 3.00 p.m on May 29, 2026 to 5.00 p.m on May 30, 2026 on account of the   Vice President of India’s  visit in  Goa.

This order will not apply to Police Personnel and other Government officials/ agencies if using the drones purely in connection with their officials duties, subject to the following conditions:- Such Police Personnel and other Government officials will be in their prescribed service uniform wherever applicable and will carry valid identity cards and written authorization issued by the competent authority permitting the use of drones for official purpose and the exemption will be applicable only while such personnel are on official duty and strictly for official purposes during the period of enforcement of this order.

Goan Reporter:DM NORTH PROHIBITS ROAD DIGGING ETC.

District Magistrate, North has banned digging/ cutting of all  types of roads in and around the following areas without the permission of the  District Magistrate, North – NH-66 from Zuari  bridge to Merces junction; GMC Bambolim to Lok Bhavan, Dona Paula via Goa University road and NIO Circle, Dona Paula to Divja circle via Miramar circle.

The  requests of road  cutting activities of general public, Government Departments and other which are urgent in nature for the purpose of water, sewerage, electrical connection and others are to be addressed to the concerned Departments which shall be forwarded to District Magistrate, North along with the recommendation and justification for further action in the matter.

Any person, agency or Departments etc. contravening this order will be held liable for punishment under Section 223 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. This order will come into force on May 29, 2026 and will remain in force till 5.00 p.m  on May 30, 2026.

A  power shut down has been arranged on May 29, 2026 from 9.00 a.m to 03.00 p.m at 200 KVA Firgebhat transformer, Calangute to carry out routine maintenance works. Affected areas are Firguembhat area near Ganesh temple, Balwadi and surrounding area in Nerul.

Similarly, a power shut down has been arranged on May 30, 2026 from 9.00 a.m to 01.00 p.m at 11KV   Cortalim feeder, Vasco to carry out routine maintenance works. Affected areas are Sancoale Panchayat (old), near Sancoale Health Centre, Kudva  and  surrounding area.

The newly laid 11KV underground cable along with RMU’s and TLBs along the road from 33/11KV Waddem Substation to Dongri DTC RMU Valshem for 11KV Bhati feeder and from Sulkarna to 33/11KV Quinamol Substation for 11KV Kurpem feeder, Sanguem will be test charged on May 28, 2026 and will remain charged hereafter.

The Public are advised to keep them self away from the poles, structure and lines as any contact with these power line may be hazardous to life and property.”

The Governor P Ashok Gajapathi Raju has greeted the people on the festive occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakri-Id). Conveying his greetings and best wishes to all the people of Goa, especially the Muslim brethren.

The Governor in his message said, “Id-Ul-Zuha   celebrated in the spirit of sacrifice, compassion and benevolence is observed with deep devotion and enthusiasm across India and around the world. This sacred occasion also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ inspires us to uphold the timeless values of faith, charity, selflessness and humanity. It also reminds us that all religions advocate the universal ideals of love, peace, compassion, harmony and brotherhood”.

The Executive Engineer, Work Division – VII (NH), PWD, Panaji, Administrator of NH -66 between Patradevi to Agassaim has ordered the closure  of right hand side of the existing NH-66 from approach road of A2  (near Neo Majestic Hotel, Porvorim) at Gauri Petrol Pump, Porvorim for all types of vehicular traffic  from May 27, 2026 to June 15, 2026 to facilitate hindrance free and speedy completion of the project taking into considerations, the safety of commuters.

Traffic proceeding from Panaji towards Mapusa will be diverted from left hand side service road near Neo Majestic Hotel and traffic will be closed for the connecting road from Pundalik Nagar near P82 near Delfinos junction. Traffic moving towards Mapusa from Betim will be allowed on existing right hand side service roadof NH-66 from P85 near Gauri Petrol Pump. Suitable and safe access for the local residents and establishments on the closed stretch of NH-66 will be provided at designated locations.

Goan Reporter:ONLINE UPDATION OF AADHAAR

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has advised residents to update their supporting documents at least once by submitting Proof of Identity and Proof  of Address on Aadhaar on completion of 10 years from the date of Enrolment. Keeping the Aadhaar updated helps in ease of living, better service delivery, enables accurate authentication and continued accuracy of information in the Aadhaar database.

Aadhaar is a random 12 digit Unique Identification Number issued to residents to establish the resident’s unique identity which cannot be reassigned to any other individual. However, Aadhaar is mandatory especially where proof of Aadhaar is condition/ pre requisite for receipt of Government subsidy, benefit or service.

The Aadhaar Update Service can be availed at any Aadhaar Centre on payment of a normal fee of Rs. 75/- approved by the UIDAI, New Delhi. However, in order to encourage the residents to update their documents (Proof of Identity and Proof of Address) in Aadhaar, UIDAI has extended the facility of updating documents through ‘myAadhaar’ portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ free of cost up to  June 14, 2027.

Although, Aadhaar Document Update is not mandatory it is a preferred procedure in order to have the Aadhaar card up to date
