MEASURES TO PREVENT VECTOR BORNE DISEASE DISCUSSED

Panaji: May 13, 2018 ….. The meeting of North Goa District Block Committee for Vector Borne Disease held in North Collect orate office recently under the Chairmanship of  Additional Collector I,   Shri Vikas Gaunnekar.

The main point discussed in the meeting was the pre monsoon preparedness to control outbreak of malaria in the state. The monsoon period is the breeding season of malaria. The places   like ponds, water tanks, tyres, coconut shells where water stagnates becomes breeding grounds of malaria. He also told the concerned officials to carry out the inspection of potential breeding sites during ensuing monsoon season.

While interacting with the members Shri Gaunekar  exhorted the officials of the Healthn Department and other related offices and NGOs to work rigorously to ensure that figures of vector borne disease in the North Goa District is  brought down to zero and  called for the need to seek declaration from concerned authorities to set  their responsibilities. They need to be asked to identify the places vulnerable for the outbreak of malaria and spread of other   vector borne diseases. He suggested for need mass awareness among people to take precautions to control   malaria in the state.

Shri Gaunekar also directed the concerned authorities to issue guidelines pertaining to do’s and don’ts to be followed by general public. The authorities from PWD and IDC to inspect abandoned buildings and should take action accordingly. As fishing  ban to be implemented in the month of June. He directed the concerned authorities to issue circular to all the Jetties in the state

Shri Roland Martins, Convener Goa Can during the discussion suggested that the doctors from the Public Health Centers have to call meeting of the Labour Inspectors to discuss about what measures to take to arrest malaria. He further suggested to direct Labour   Inspectors   to inspect and keep watch at the construction sites and ensure the guidelines or precautions issued are followed or not by the builders. The Village Panchayat and Schools to involve in making anti malaria campaign more effective,  he opined.

The Deputy collector Tiswadi and Officials of concerned   Government   Departments attended the meeting.

 

APPLICATIONS INVITED TO APPEAR FOR HSSC/SSC EXAM

  Panaji,  May 12, 2018 …  Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has informed that, applications are invited from the students desirous to enroll in Private Category and Private Category (I.T.I. pass out students) for Equivalence to appear for HSSC/SCC Examination of March / April 2019.

 The forms are available in the Board’s office and to be collected by July 31, 2018 @ Rs. 30/- per  form. (In both Categories).

 The last day of receipt of application forms for enrolment is September 15, 2018. Time barred applications will be accepted till October 10, 2018 only in genuine cases. (In both Categories).

 The Enrolment Certificate must be collected by November 5, 2018 from the Office of GBSHSE along with documents except the documents mentioned in the form 3b/4b.

 The Schedule of filing the online Examination form may be confirmed from the Office of GBSHSE. Circular inviting applications will be uploaded on the official website of GBSHSE, www.gbshse.gov.in

Eligibility for Private Candidates except I.T.I. Students is that, for SSC exam  Student must complete 17 years and above as on March 1, 2019 and for HSSC exam Student must complete 19 years as on March 1, 2019.

SWACHH BHARAT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS

 Panaji,  May  12, 2018 … The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in association with the Ministry of Human Resources Development and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is launching a ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme’ with an aim of Making ‘Swachhata, a Jan Andolan’.

The Internship is meant for College and Higher Secondary School Students for the duration of at least 100 hrs during the period from May 1 to July 31, 2018. The Programme Officer will be the Nodal Officer who will guide the students /NSS Volunteers throughout the internship.

Students can register online at http://sbsi.mygov.in. and upload photos and report. The location of the internship may either be home or the Institution. Candidates may participate individually or in team depending on the nature and scope of their activity, a maximum limit of 10 member in a team is required.

 All the participants will be issued Swachh Bharat Internship Certificates on completion of their internship. Two curriculum credits will be given to college students. The best intern will be awarded Shield / Cup and Cash Award from 10,000/- up to 2 lakhs.

 All the NSS Programme Officers from College and Higher Secondary Schools are requested to contact their Students who are on vacation and get them to register on the above mentioned portal before May 15, 2018. CONTROL ROOMS SET UP IN ALL TALUKAS OF SOUTH DISTRICT

Margao:   May 11, 2018 … The South Goa District Disaster Management Authority under the Chairmanship of Additional Collector and CEO, Shri Johnson Fernandes has set up Control Rooms in all the talukas of the district. 

The control rooms are set up to facilitate the reporting of any incident of disaster wherein the line departments are intimated in a much faster way to ensure initiating quick remedial measures in providing relief to the people affected by any disaster whether man-made or natural.

SHRI. KHAUNTE TO INTERACT WITH GMs, HRs TO UNDERSTAND INDUSTRY’S NEEDS

 Panaji,  May  11, 2018 …. Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment has organised interaction with General Managers / Human Resource Managers on May 12, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. The meeting will be addressed by Minister for Labour Shri Rohan Khaunte.

 The interaction aims to have deeper understanding of industry’s needs and enable the Government to facilitate as environment of industrial, economic and employment growth.

         Employment generation, Skill development and promoting Ease of doing business are key priority areas of the Government. To this effect, the Government has initiated a series of reforms, and the process is ongoing. At this juncture, the Minister for Labour Shri. SHRI NAIK LAUDS DDCMC

Panaji: May 10, 2018… Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shri Shripad Naik lauded the work of District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) “DISHA” for functioning effectively and coordinating with the Department of (DRDA) for its purpose in implementing various Central Government schemes and State Government schemes funded by Central Government in the State and making them to reach the poor and needy people and helping them to avail benefit of such schemes.

Shri Naik chaired a meeting of District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) “DISHA” for financial year 2018-19. The meeting was organized by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), North Goa at Hotel Mandovi in the City recently.

DM North Smt.Nila Mohanan, IAS, who is also the Member Secretary of DDCMC, Shri Vasudev Shetye, Project Director DRDA- North, Smt. Ankita Navelkar, President North Goa Zilla Panchayat and Heads of the other Government Departments were present on the occasion.

Earlier the representatives of Government Departments presented power point presentation of their achievements and short falls in the process of implementation of central Government Schemes and State Government schemes funded by Central Government.

‘SAGAR SHAURYA- 2018’ SCHEDULED ON MAY 10

 Panaji, May 9, 2018An Ocean Sailing Expedition ‘SAGAR SHAURYA- 2018” organised by 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC of NCC Group Belagavi, under the aegis of NCC Directorate (Karnataka and Goa) is scheduled  from Dona Paula Jetty on May 10, 2018. The expedition is an important part of the training of the Naval Cadets.

  A team comprising of 56 Senior Division Cadets (including 12 Girls), two ANOs, 15 Naval personnel and five Naval Officers, headed by Lt Commander Gaurish M. Sawant, Commanding Officer, 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC will undertake the expedition from Goa to Karwar and back over a period of six days. The Team will cover a distance of approx 426 Km in three DK Whaler Boats from Goa to Karwar and back with scheduled night halts.

The night halts are strategically planned to allow rest and recuperation for the young sailing crew, maintenance of boats, replenishment of supplies and turnaround of crew.
In order to prepare the cadets to face the rigors at sea, a sail training workshop is underway at Dona Paula since May 3, 2018 where the cadets are being imparted training on rigging, boat pulling and sailing including handling of contingencies at sea.

The cadets will also be imparted training on aspects of seamanship, drill, signaling and communication during the expedition. The expedition also intends to undertake Nation Building activities like Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Tree Plantation, Rallies on Open Defecation Free environment and waste management, etc during its course.

SANKHALI MUNICIPAL WORKERS FELICITATED ON WORKERS DAY

 Panaji, May 8, 2018 … Chief Officer of Sankhali Muncipality Shri Pravinjay G. Pandit , felicitated Safai Karmacharis/labourers and other employees of Sankhali Muncipal Council to mark the International Day of  Labour recently.

 The Muncipal workers were also distributed with safety kits. The Chief Officer stated that special Health camps will be conducted for the Muncipal workers within a fortnight. He also heard the grievances and suggestions of the Safai Karmacharis, Muncipal workers, and promised to improve the facilities rendered to the Municipal workers.

SHRI. RANE LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR SHEL MALOLI TEMPLE

Panaji, May 7, 2018 … Health Minister, Shri Vishwajit Rane laid foundation stone for construction of temple at Shel Maloli in Sattari today.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Rane said that temple plays a vital role in the integration and the development of the entire community.

Emphasizing upon efforts put in the Health sector, Shri Rane said that his vision is to ensure that Health care facility is on par with private hospital, apart from reaching at the door step of the common people to provide them relief.

“Government has already initiated to improve the infrastructure and facilities such as pathology units, free insulins and cancer hospital etc. at Government Hospitals, Rural Medical Dispensaries  and  Primary Health Centres”, said Shri Rane.

Shri Premnath Hazare, ZP member also spoke on the occasion. Shri Rama Melekar, President of Devasthan Committee welcomed the guests. While Shri Shyam Sangodkar, Secretary of Devastan Committee proposed the vote of thanks.  Shri Santosh Melekar compered the function.
