It may be noted that the president of goa pradesh congress committee luizinho faleiro had recently stated that the state Congress party was concerned about the bad name Goa was getting due to Goa becoming the sin capital of India with gambling at casinos strongly increasing and had mentioned that the policy of successive governments including that of BJP and Congress of using casinos for promoting tourism was proving counter-productive and threatening the social and moral fabric thus affecting the youth and future generations of Goa.

03/11/2015 … President of the State nationalist congress party jose Philip dsouza on Monday confirmed the entry of st cruz mla babush monsoratte who would be joining the ncp party very soon and mentioned that the ncp party would go alone in the upcoming state assembly elections in 2017 contesting all 40 assembly seats

It may be noted that the St cruz mla babush monsoratte who has earlier confirmed that he was in touch with the leaders of the nationalist congress party and talks were on for his entry in to the state ncp fold was seen having a meeting with the state ncp leaders at a private resort in panjim …

Along with the st cruz mla babush monsoratte along present for the meet were state ncp president jospe philip dsouza, ncp spokesperson trojano dmello and other party leaders ….

The meeting had discussion about the ncp party agenda of fighting the upcoming state assembly elections in 2017 alone without the support of congress or any other party and trying to go allout in all forty constituencies on its own

St cruz mla babush monsoratte said that he would meet the central ncp leaders and start the process of forming ncp blocks and membership drive soon after diwali in all forty constituencies

 Mr monsoratte also stated that as he always believed in challenges he was ready to built a strong alternative to the congress party by joining the ncp fold and thus ncp could also form the next government in goa on its own

The curchorem mla has been able to get his candidates elected in the recently held municipality elections under his bjp party support in curchorem municipality ….

Speaking to media reporters in panjim mr cabral said that the next five years it would be a test for him to take curchorem municipality in to a new height taking all issues of common people

30/10/2015 …. sarpanch of calangute village panchayat  joseph sequiera has questioned that the state government over the upcoming saligao garbage treatment plant trying to know as how could the garbage treatment plant take garbage from other villages when calangute itself was generating garbage to the tune of 100 tonnes per day

speaking to media reporters in panjim mr sequira said that the garbage load from calangute village itself was to the tune of 100 tonnes and therefore it was difficult to understand as how many more tones could the treatment plant take in when the government had been trying to play hide an sick over the issue

mr sequiera said that it would be difficult for the garbage treatment plant to take garbage from other villages due to its capacity of taking only 100 toness

former calangute mla agnelo fernandes said that the present calangute mla was only completing his unfinished work and though he was not objecting the garbage treatment plant he wanted to know as how the garbage treatment plant would take care og garbage from other villages

meanwhile calangute mla Michael lobo said that his dream has been to make coastal belt from calangute constituency and coastal villages to be free from garbage and that was what the chief minister had also promised him to do so

A special pandal is always been erected outside the Basilica of Bom Jesus to accommodate the devotees thronging the former capital from various parts of the state, country and world.

Speaking to goanreporter.com rector of bam jesus basilica fr savio baretto said that the this year the theme for the feast of st francis Xavier has been focused on mercy of goa chosen by the church as let us honour st francis Xavier and let us also be fountains of gods mercy

Fr baretto also stated that thinking of gujrati and trying to find out the number of people who could come for mass and if request come then we could think about it

Addressing media persons in panjim prakash bandodkar of pilerne citizens forum said that the bjp government had fooled the people of saligao constituency by stating that the garbage treatment plant would be used for entire north goa

Mr also bandodkar also sought to know as how the saligao garbage treatment plant could handle the capacity of 210 tones of garbage of entire north goa when the plant had a capacity of handling only 110 tonnes of garbage
