It may be noted that the state Government has recently cleared the re-allotment of the over 31,000 sq mt land at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat at Dona Paula.

The project, which had been ridden with controversies since its inception, was stalled in December 2007 due to violent protests by the locals led by local MLA Atanasio Monserrate and later abandoned in the middle of infrastructure development.

The Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat has been established over an area of approximately 90 acres, which is strategically located at Dona Paula on the outskirts of the city.

The present Government had cancelled all the land allotments after coming to power in March 2012 State Assembly elections.

Speaking to media reporters st cruz mla babush monsoratte said that though he has been not taken in to confidence by the present bjp led government over the it habitat issue he was clear on the it habitat that he would not allow any commercial activities other than it industries at dona paula in his taleigao village

The 90-acre Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat, established at Dona Paula, was sub-divided into 18 plots ranging from 4,000 to 40,000 sq. mt.

Four sub-divided plots were also kept for supporting facilities. Out of the 18 plots, 16 were allotted along with the 4 sub-divided plots that were meant for infrastructure projects from 2006 and 2007.

However, after allegations of scams and allegations of several financial defaults, violations of the Terms and Conditions of the Lease Deed by the allottees, the allotments were cancelled.

Babush also stated that the committee which would be set up through the process of gram Sabha would also scrutinize the sale of plots in the it habitat

The counting for the eleven wards of the taleigao village panchayat took place at 8 am in the morning on monday and was almost over by 11.30 noon

 In all together ten seats out of eleven panchayat wards went to the taleigao progressive development front led by babush monsortatte while the lone seat from ward no nine was won by raghuveer kunkonlikar which went to the bjp together for taleigao panel and was won by which with a lead of 18 votes …

 Political equations  had stated that though this time it won’t be an easy task for mr monsoratte to get his panel elected at the village panchayat elections and would have to work hard for his victory as the bjp party has also made provisions to put candidates and fight the battle but the bjp panel could hardly made any impact over the monosratte panel and had to survive with only one seat

27/04/2014 … Elections for the 11-ward of the taleigao village panchayat got underway peacefully at the various booths levels situated in and around the taleigao village panchayat on Sunday morning

The village panchayat of taleigao has a total of 16,055 votes comprising 7,999 male and 8,056 female voters and has a total of 26 booths and 45 candidates in the fray …

The counting of votes will be held on Monday.

Besides individual candidates, there are also three panels one by St cruz mla Atanasio Babush Monserrate, another backed by bjp and a third by former BJP assembly candidate Agnel Silveira in the fray…

The st cruz mla babush mobsoratte and his wife and taleigao mla along with his sons were also seen at the polling booth to cast their votes on Sunday morning

Addressing media persons at the conference hall at the secretariat at porvorim chief minister Manohar parrikar said that the state government would soon formulate a mining policy within the framework of mining and mineral development act which could take care of each and every mining dependent goan

Parrikar said that there was possibility of starting some of the mines in the state from October this year

Parrikar also stated that once the election code was over his government would revamp the mining department in a complete way and action would also be taken on those who were found to be involved in illegal mining activities earlier

17/04/2014 …. The state government on Thursday welcomed the mahdei river tribunal decision of directing the Karnataka state government to block canal with concrete structure before May 31 to stop mhadei water diversion till final order ….

 It may be noted that during the previous hearing, Karnataka had proposed to plug the Kalasa canal at Kankumbi to stop water flowing in the Kalasa nallah from joining the Malaprabha river.

 The advocate general of Goa, Atmaram Nadkarni, during the last hearing held on March 27, brought to the notice of the tribunal, illegalities committed by Karnataka for carrying out work of excavation and construction of the Kalasa canal at Kankumbi without taking necessary statutory clearances.

 Addressing media persons at the party head office in Panjim chief minister manohar Parrikar gave more details about the order set by the mhadei river tribunal

 Parrikar said from the year 2006 up to 2012 the then congress led government in to the state of goa had not done anything nor even had written any protest letter against the Karnataka to the tribunal and hoped that with this order the dispute could be solved through legal arguments

16/04/2014 … Stating that the announcement made by the state government of giving dearness allowance to government employees was in violation of the model code of conduct the state congress party on Wednesday urged the central election commission as well as state election commission to segregate the state 10,500 postal ballot votes from the recently held lok sabha elections in to the state of goa ….

 It may be noted that the Goa government on Tuesday had raised the dearness allowance of nearly 65,000 civil servants and over 22,000 pensioners, from 90 to 100 per cent of the basic, from January 2014.

 The Union cabinet had approved the proposal to hike DA for its employees and dearness relief for its pensioners to 100 per cent in March and the same has been implemented for Goa government employees. 

 Addressing media person gpcc president john Fernandes said the party was objecting to the statement made by chief minister over the increase of da to the state government employees as the same was announced by the prime minister of india dr manmohan singh prior to the election while mr Parrikar had announced it during the model code of conduct was in force

 Fernandes also stated that he had spoken to his central aicc leaders to log a complaint with the central election commission over the matter
