Goan Reporter:SPEED BREAKERS NOTIFIED
Panaji: April 02, 2026:: District Magistrate, North has ordered the construction of Three Hump Type Speed breakers at near Ram Mandir Colvale, Bardez Goa and Six Speed breakers at Socorro, Bardez Goa.
First Speed Breaker to be constructed at a distance admeasuring 15 meters from Colvale Four Road Junction on the road leading towards NH-66, second Speed Breaker to be constructed at a distance 08 meters from Colvale Four Road Junction on the road leading towards internal road and third Speed Breaker to be constructed at a distance of 18 meters from Colvale Four Road Junction on the road leading towards Revora Village.
Further, two Speed Breakers near Copper Leaf – NH- 66 Junction, Two Speed Breakers near Little Daisies Play School and One Speed Breaker near T Junction connecting to Shantadurga Temple.
Goan Reporter:RESTRICTIONS ON LIQUOR TRANSPORTATION DURING BYE- ELECTION
Panaji: April 02, 2026:::Department of Finance (Revenue & Control) has notified that no liquor shall be transported from one place to another within the areas under jurisdiction of Ponda Assembly Constituency in South Goa District of the State of Goa during the period from 6:00 p.m. of April 07, 2026 till 6:00 p.m. of April 09, 2026 or till the closure of poll, whichever is later, and on May 04, 2026, on account of Polling Day and Counting of Votes for the Bye-Election to the Ponda Assembly Constituency. The maximum quantity of liquor which can be possessed by any person within the areas under jurisdiction of Ponda Assembly Constituency will be three quart bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor or foreign liquor other than beer, and six bottles of beer of 650 ml for any person including his family and three quart bottles of country liquor, for any person including his family.
Goan Reporter:RESTRICTIONS ON SALE OF LIQUOR DURING BYE-ELECTION

Department of Finance (Revenue & Control) has directed that all licensed premises “for the sale of liquor” will be closed from 6:00 p.m. of April 07, 2026 till 6:00 p.m. of April 09, 2026 or till the closure of poll, whichever is later, and also on May 04, 2026, within the areas under the jurisdiction of Ponda Assembly Constituency in South Goa District of the State of Goa, on account of Polling Day and Counting of Votes for the Bye-Election to the Ponda Assembly Constituency.
However, the licensed premises having license for “Bar and Restaurant” will be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food only and the bar counter shall be closed and no liquor shall be allowed to be served on the above mentioned days. The owners of the licensed premises having “Bar & Restaurant” shall also display a board in the premises stating that no liquor will be served and that only the restaurant is open for serving food.
Goan Reporter:CM INAUGURATES AYUSH WELLNESS CENTRE AT SECRETARIAT

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in distinguish presence of Health Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane inaugurated the ‘AYUSH Wellness Centre’ at the Secretariat, Porvorim, today. The initiative is aimed at encouraging a shift from treatment-based care to a wellness-oriented approach, with a focus on overall well-being and healthy lifestyles.
The Wellness Centre will offer a range of services including yoga sessions, lifestyle guidance and consultations based on AYUSH systems such as Ayurveda and Homeopathy, integrated with modern healthcare practices. Designed primarily for Secretariat staff and government employees, the facility will also benefit visitors and personnel from other departments. With 201 Health and Wellness Centres already operational across the State, Goa continues to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure with a focus on accessibility and preventive care.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Today’s Wellness Centre reflects our vision of moving from treatment-based healthcare to wellness-based healthcare.” He further stated, “Our focus is not only on curing diseases, but by preventing them and promoting overall well-being.” Emphasising the importance of lifestyle changes, he said, “Preventive healthcare, fitness and mental well-being will be key pillars of Goa’s healthcare model going forward.” He also urged citizens to take responsibility of their health, stating, “Healthcare is not only the responsibility of the Government, it is a shared responsibility of every citizen.”
CM Sawant highlighted that the centre will help individuals understand their health through traditional systems such as Ayurveda, while promoting practices like yoga, pranayama and natural therapies. Qualified AYUSH doctors will be available to provide specialised consultation and guidance tailored to individual needs. The initiative also aims to integrate traditional and modern healthcare systems, with plans to expand AYUSH services across Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, district hospitals and Goa Medical College.
The initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting holistic and preventive healthcare by integrating modern medicine with traditional systems under the State AYUSH Society and Directorate of Health Services, located within the Secretariat, the centre will provide easy access to wellness consultations, preventive therapies and specialised services for staff. By offering Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Allopathy under one roof, along with yoga and lifestyle guidance, the centre promotes an integrated approach to healthcare and helps address lifestyle diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
The programme was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS and senior officials from the Department of AYUSH and Directorate of Health Services.
