Goan Reporter:GOVT PROHIBITS STRIKES IN PHARMA SECTOR

Department of Home (General) under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Goa Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1988 prohibited strike in any form in all establishments engaged in manufacturing, packaging, distribution and transportation of pharmaceutical products and components thereof in pharmaceutical products and components thereof in pharmaceutical sector in the State of Goa with immediate effect.
This order will be valid for a period of six months with effect from June 17, 2026.

A power shut down has been arranged on June 13, 2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at Ekodi Manas DTC, Porvorim to carry out urgent maintenance work. Affected areas are Ekodi Manas DTC, Panchayat Ekodi Manas and surrounding areas.
Goan Reporter:BICHOLIM COMMERCIAL TAX OFFICE SHIFTED
The Commercial Tax Office, Bicholim ward, Bicholim has been shifted from its existing premises at Commercial Tax Office, Bicholim Ward, 1st Floor, Koteshwar Residency Building, Near Petrol Pump, Bicholim, Goa, Pin Code 403504 to the new premises located at First Floor of ‘B’ Block, of the Commercial-cum-Residential Complex Goa at Bordem, Bicholim Goa, Pin Code 403504 with effect from June 8, 2026.
All services, official correspondence and public dealings henceforth will be carried out from the new office premises.
Tax payers/dealers, Chartered Accountant/Tax practitioner, public, stakeholders are requested to note of the change in office location and approach the new office premises for availing departmental services.

Goan Reporter:DIVERSION OF TRAFFIC
The Executive Engineer, Works Division – VII (NH), PWD, Panaji, Administrator of NH-66 between Patradevi to Zuari bridge, has notified diversion of traffic on temporary extended lanes of NH-66 for a stretch from Km. 494.400 to Km. 495.400 ( from Kaloji Wines Store to India Oil Petroleum) from June 13, 2026 to November 23, 2027, to facilitate hindrance free and speedy completion of the part work.
Goan Reporter:APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR ATAL ASRA YOJANA
The Directorate of Tribal Welfare, has invited applications for the Atal Asra Yojana, a housing assistance scheme aimed at improving living conditions of Scheduled Tribe (ST) families across the state.
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries can receive financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a new house, reconstruction of an existing house. Assistance of up to Rs 3 lakh is also available for repairs to existing houses.
In a significant relief to beneficiaries, the annual income eligibility limit has been enhanced from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, enabling a larger number of ST families to avail benefits of the scheme.
Applicants are required to submit documents including an affidavit, house tax receipt, income certificate, ST certificate, Aadhaar card, ration card, bank passbook copy, photographs of the existing house, and other prescribed documents.

Goan Reporter:DAY CARE CHEMOTHERAPY CENTRES INAUGURATED AT DISTRICT HOSPITALS
The Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera has donated the Day Care Chemotherapy Centres worth sixty-five lakhs to the State of Goa through their Global Grant program which is also supported by the Rotary Foundation, Rotary International District 3170 and international partner Rotary Club of Seoul Jeil; RID 3640.
The Centres are established at both North and South District Hospital were inaugurated by the Minister for Health, Shri Vishwajit Rane and District Governor, Rtn. Arun D. Bhandare in the presence of Deputy Speaker, Shri Joshua De Souza and Minister for Captain of Ports, Shri Digambar Kamat.
Through this grant program Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera aims to decentralize chemotherapy services and make them accessible at district level. This will reduce travel and financial burden on patients and caregivers and will improve treatment compliance and continuity of care for cancer patients. These day care centres will help to decongest Goa Medical College so they can focus on complex cases.
This initiative will benefit the underprivileged, economically backward and rural cancer patients who require follow-up chemotherapy closer to home. The facility will give immense relief to caregivers and families of the cancer patients by reducing their travel, costs, and caregiver fatigue.

Also, a power shut down has been arranged on June 16, 2026 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at Curtorim Panchayat DTC. Affected area is Curtorim.
