    26/05/2014 … A delegation of the members from the civil society led by fatorda independent mla vijai sardessai on Monday met the state director general of police t n mohan and appraised him over the police officials harassment towards the Young shipping professional Devu Chodankar who is facing arrest for his comments on Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi on a Facebook forum

    It may be noted in a post in March this year, Chodankar had in his facebook comment had stated that if Modi comes to power, he would unleash a ‘holocaust’, a post that the police claimed was later deleted.

    Chodankar had posted the comment on March 23 and was summoned by Goa police on May 12. He has been booked under the contentious section 66A of the IT Act along with sections of 153(A) and 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code.

    The FIR was registered by former chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industries Atul Pai Kane.

    But on last Saturday Goa Police’s attempt to arrest deu for making anti-Narendra Modi comment was opposed by members of the Civil society activists who believed police interest in a Facebook post was draconian after which even a protest was held outside the police headquarters in Panaji on Saturday.

    Meanwhile social activist advocate aires rodrigues said that he had also pointed out to dgp about the previous complaints which he had filed on the politicians and no action was taken till date no those by the state police department

    Mayekar also stated that if Portuguese government was really accepting international laws then he questioned why mayem property was not given back to its locals when there was an end of its third generation

    When asked over the formation of the disciplinary action committee president of the state congress party john Fernandes said a five member Pradesh disciplinary committee which would be appointed as soon as it was cleared by the congress president mrs Sonia Gandhi

    Fernandes said the committee would be empowered to take suo motto cognizance of any statements made by the congress members publicly or any other matter which could go against the congress constitution

    65 year old ex sanitary inspector kashinath jaganath naik dhulapkar brutally murdered by an unknown person in broad daylight

    04/05/2014 … In a gruesome incident which took place at calvaddo in corlim village a 65 year old ex sanitary inspector kashinath jaganath naik dhulapkar was brutally murdered by an unknown person in broad daylight on Saturday morning …

    According to the information available from locals an unknown persons who seems to be mentally retarded attacked the sixty five year old  kashinath at calvaddo in corlim village while kashinath was on his way in his two wheeler from his home situated at dhulapi ward in corlim village towards neighbouring carambolim village to purchase kerosene at around 9.30 in the morning when the unknown who is believed to be a migrant attacked kashinath first with wooden stick making him totally injured …

    Later seeing the locals ladies of trying to come to the rescue of kashinath the unknown mentally migrant also tried to attack three to four locals ladies after attacking kashinath with stick but the ladies managed to escape after which once again the migrant came in front of the injured kashinath and smashed his head with a stone murdering him on the spot and then sat near the side of a gate close to the murder site ..

    Seeing this incident some of the male locals also rushed to the site and bashed out the migrant black and blue and later handed him to the old goa police officials …

    The old goa police officials led by pi kirshna sinari also rushed to the site and conducted panchanama of the body along with site inspection and booked the accused under section 302 of ipc act …

    Meanwhile son of late kashinath, vishal dhulapkar was shocked to see his father being murdered along the site of the road and suspected some if neighbours  hands in to the incident

     

    CCP Mayor surendra furtado to set up an inquiry in to the unwanted re tarring work of the Miramar dona-paula road

    03/05/2014 … Mayor of the corporation city of panjim surendra furtado has said that the corporation would like to set up an inquiry in to the unwanted re tarring work of the Miramar dona-paula road which has been carried out without the approval of the corporation

     It may be noted that Panjim’s best Miramar-Dona Paula road has been dugged out for the second time in last three months where as the earlier cost of the work for the same road was Rs 1.3 crore now the same road is worth to be around 60 crore

     Not only that the corporation has also given a no objection certificate to GSIDC but ccp with Mayor and other city fathers are unaware of this such decision being taken by the corporation

     Addressing media persons in his office in Panjim ccp mayor surendra furtado said that the corporation had not cleared any proposal from to the government for doing up the road and it is a total waste of money which could have spent on, beautification of Panjim, developing the areas of Boca da Vaca and other such projects.

    Furtado said that the ccp commissioner had given an noc without consulting the corporation and therefore would like an inquire in to this matter

    Addressing media persons at the conference hall of the state police head quarter’s dgp mohan said that there were drugs in goa but not in huge quantity and therefore goa could not be called as a transit point for drugs while the major concern was the sale of prescription drugs which was a concern for the state

    Mohan said that the last year seizure of drugs amounting to around 35 kilos was to be slated as one of the biggest seizure done by goa police in the last decade

    01/05/2014 … The state police department on Thursday arrested prakash patil aged 29 years old and a resident of sakhalim bicholim in connection with the three theft cases which took place at collem, curchorem and sanguem in the past few days

    The three theft cases had taken place on the same day of 28th of april last month between 8.30 to 1.30 pm in the afternoon where in the accused patil had committed theft at three different houses one after another and had stolen gold worth nine lakhs of ruppes in total along with cash …

    It may be noted that there are around 140 traditional fisherman under the banner of shantadurga fisherman association from the areas of Bambolim village and have been carrying out fishing activities in and around the tiswaddi area specially in and around Bambolim sea but due to the permission given by the fisheries department for water sports activities to a private resort the traditional fisherman are worried of their day to day fishing activities …

    Fisherman has objected to the permission given to 40 unit’s especially inflatable boats, wind surfing boards, laser fun boards and kayay

    It may be noted that the state Government has recently cleared the re-allotment of the over 31,000 sq mt land at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat at Dona Paula.

    The project, which had been ridden with controversies since its inception, was stalled in December 2007 due to violent protests by the locals led by local MLA Atanasio Monserrate and later abandoned in the middle of infrastructure development.

    The Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat has been established over an area of approximately 90 acres, which is strategically located at Dona Paula on the outskirts of the city.

    The present Government had cancelled all the land allotments after coming to power in March 2012 State Assembly elections.

    Speaking to media reporters st cruz mla babush monsoratte said that though he has been not taken in to confidence by the present bjp led government over the it habitat issue he was clear on the it habitat that he would not allow any commercial activities other than it industries at dona paula in his taleigao village

    The 90-acre Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat, established at Dona Paula, was sub-divided into 18 plots ranging from 4,000 to 40,000 sq. mt.

    Four sub-divided plots were also kept for supporting facilities. Out of the 18 plots, 16 were allotted along with the 4 sub-divided plots that were meant for infrastructure projects from 2006 and 2007.

    However, after allegations of scams and allegations of several financial defaults, violations of the Terms and Conditions of the Lease Deed by the allottees, the allotments were cancelled.

    Babush also stated that the committee which would be set up through the process of gram Sabha would also scrutinize the sale of plots in the it habitat

     In all together ten seats out of eleven panchayat wards went to the taleigao progressive development front led by babush monsortatte while the lone seat from ward no nine was won by raghuveer kunkonlikar which went to the bjp together for taleigao panel and was won by which with a lead of 18 votes …

     Political equations  had stated that though this time it won’t be an easy task for mr monsoratte to get his panel elected at the village panchayat elections and would have to work hard for his victory as the bjp party has also made provisions to put candidates and fight the battle but the bjp panel could hardly made any impact over the monosratte panel and had to survive with only one seat

    The st cruz mla babush monosratte also did not wasted time to announce the name of his sarpanch and its deputy and named janu Rosario as the sarpanch of taleigao village panchayat while stella dsouza as his deputy

     Meanwhile the lone wine from the bjp panel raghuveer kunkolikar of ward no nine said that he would work for the development of his ward with the help of the bjp led government
