Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club delivered a dominant performance to defeat Goa Velha Sports Club 3–0 in a thrilling clash of the Anil Kamat Memorial Football Tournament, organized by Enfermos Sports Club.

The match kicked off with high intensity, and Sao Jose de Areal took an early lead in the 12th minute through a composed finish by Vanatel Travasso. Goa Velha responded quickly and came close to equalizing in the 21st minute, but Satish Kankonkar’s header narrowly missed the target.

Maintaining their attacking momentum, Sao Jose de Areal doubled their lead in the 24th minute with a clinical strike from Ashnoy Gomes, giving them a two-goal advantage at halftime.

Goa Velha came out with intent in the second half, creating several chances through Satish Kankonkar, Prasil Kankonkar, and Akash, but failed to convert. Sao Jose also kept up the pressure, with opportunities from Leo Gomindes, Tyson Carvalho, and Ashnoy Gomes.

The final goal came in the 52nd minute when Stalen Oliveira found the net, sealing a convincing 3–0 victory for Sao Jose de Areal SC.

Agxem SC secured their spot in the final of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Interward Football Tournament with a thrilling 5–3 victory in a tiebreaker against SFX Camarxet. The tournament is being held at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim, and is organised by the Sporting Club of Virabhat.

The match featured high-intensity, attacking football from both sides. Camarxet had an early chance to take the lead when Rohit Shetty’s header narrowly missed the target. Agxem responded with a powerful strike by Alroy Gomes, but Camarxet goalkeeper Christo Hilario pulled off a stunning save.

St Anthony’s Sports Club Assolda secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 14th Super Soccer Inter-Village Football Tournament by defeating UBD Colva 4-3 in a tense tiebreaker at St John de Baptista ground, Benaulim. The tournament is organized by the United Club of Benaulim. UBD Colva took the lead in the 37th minute through Terrance Fernandes, but Assolda equalized after the break with a goal by Dryen Fernandes, assisted by Joaquim Carvalho. In the tiebreaker, Assolda’s Valentino Carvalho, Joaquim Carvalho, and Akram Yadwad converted their chances, while only Riston Gomes and Clayton Fernandes scored for Colva. Assolda goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues was awarded Man of the Match by Benaulim Sarpanch Xavier Pereira and Ressia Pereira for his standout performance.

On the occasion of completing 10 remarkable years in youth football development, the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) conducted a football clinic in Margao, Goa on Monday. The session aimed to inspire and train young footballers from across the state. The clinic was led by Stephen Charles, Head of Scouting at RFYC, and was attended by academy alumnus and professional footballer Felixson Fernandes, who currently plays for Bengaluru FC. Felixson engaged directly with the young players, sharing insights from his journey and demonstrating skills on the pitch. Stephen Charles stated, “As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we’re conducting this clinic in Goa, which also serves as a scouting platform for our next intake. Goa is a key region for us—we scout across all age groups here for eight months a year. We’ve seen great talent emerge from this region, including Nathan Rodrigues, Narendra Naik, and Felixson Fernandes.” The clinic included skill-based drills like passing, attacking and defending techniques, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 matchups, followed by a short football match. Participants also received guidance on professional-level football, learning from Felixson’s experience at the senior level in Indian football.

Sporting Club Davorlim were crowned champions of the Cana Benaulim Panchayat Cup after a dramatic 7–6 tiebreaker victory over Guardian Angel SC in a rain-soaked final at the packed St John the Baptist Panchayat ground in Benaulim. The holiday crowd was treated to a thrilling contest full of passion and resilience. Davorlim started strongly, dominating possession and pressing high, and were rewarded in the 22nd minute when Alent Colaco scored a clinical goal to give them a 1–0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Guardian Angel SC fought back with determination and equalised through a calmly converted penalty by Cyril Dias. With the score tied 1–1 at full time, the match headed into a tense penalty shootout, where Davorlim held their nerves and emerged victorious with precise finishing. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Fr. Nicholas (Delhi Archdiocese), Fr. Johnsie Colaco, Sarpanch Xavier Pereira, GFA Vice President Anthony Pango, and GFA Executive Member Anthony Leo Fernandes, along with other officials and club representatives. Individual honours were awarded to Alent Colaco (First Scorer & Best Midfielder), Jayson Dias (Best Striker), Francisco Colaco (Best Goalkeeper), and Kayden Rodrigues (Upcoming Player of Benaulim).

Sporting Club of Virabhat hosted the ongoing Silver Jubilee Cup 2025, a 9-a-side inter-ward football tournament, at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim. SC Virabhat advanced to the semi-finals after a dominant 4-0 victory over Unjirim United. Lourdes Fernandes opened the scoring for Virabhat in the 9th minute. Unjirim had a chance to equalize, but Floy Luis’s shot hit the post. In the second half, Floydon Fernandes extended the lead in the 35th minute. Vivon Fernandes sealed the win with two quick goals in the 40th and 45th minutes. Vivon Fernandes was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by Camilo Castanha, a member of Sporting Club Virabhat.

Guardian Angel SC booked their place in the final of the Benaulim Panchayat Cup after a thrilling 5-4 victory over United Club of Nerul via tiebreaker at St John the Baptist ground. In what has been the most exciting match of the tournament so far, both teams showed intensity and commitment throughout. Nerul took the lead early in the second half through Aniket Naik’s penalty after a handball, but Guardian Angel hit back almost immediately with a 45th-minute equaliser from Cyril Dias. With the game tied 1-1 at full time, the match was decided by penalties, where Guardian Angel held their nerve and Cyril Dias made two crucial saves. They now move on to face Sporting Club of Davorlim in a high-voltage final on Sunday.

In a thrilling semifinal clash at the Benaulim Panchayat Cup held at St. John the Baptist ground on Thursday, Sporting Club of Davorlim edged out tournament favorites Navelim Villagers Union 1-0 to book their spot in the final.

Alent Colaco’s clinical first-half finish proved decisive in a high-intensity match filled with chances. Navelim dominated the second half, with Ronaldo Pereira and Clinton Niasso nearly scoring, but Davorlim’s goalkeeper Francisco Colaco delivered a stellar performance with multiple crucial saves.

Despite relentless pressure from Navelim, Davorlim’s defense stood strong, securing their place in the final scheduled for Sunday.

Bhatti SC capitalized soon after, with Tony Dias scoring in the 10th minute and doubling the lead in the 20th minute to end the first half 2–0 in their favour. In the second half, Bhatti extended their lead through Ralf Dias in the 35th minute, followed by a hat-trick goal from Tony Dias in the 40th minute to make it 4–0. Cumborda pulled one back through Roy Fernandes in the 45th minute, but Bhatti sealed the game with another goal from Ralf Dias in the 50th minute, ending the match 5–1. Sporting Club of Virabhat’s 9-a-side Interward Football Tournament, the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025, saw Agxem SC triumph over Piedadigal FC with a 5-2 tie-breaker victory after a 1-1 full-time draw. The match took place at the St. Alex Church Ground.
