Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club delivered a dominant performance to defeat Goa Velha Sports Club 3–0 in a thrilling clash of the Anil Kamat Memorial Football Tournament, organized by Enfermos Sports Club.

The match kicked off with high intensity, and Sao Jose de Areal took an early lead in the 12th minute through a composed finish by Vanatel Travasso. Goa Velha responded quickly and came close to equalizing in the 21st minute, but Satish Kankonkar’s header narrowly missed the target.

Maintaining their attacking momentum, Sao Jose de Areal doubled their lead in the 24th minute with a clinical strike from Ashnoy Gomes, giving them a two-goal advantage at halftime.

Goa Velha came out with intent in the second half, creating several chances through Satish Kankonkar, Prasil Kankonkar, and Akash, but failed to convert. Sao Jose also kept up the pressure, with opportunities from Leo Gomindes, Tyson Carvalho, and Ashnoy Gomes.

The final goal came in the 52nd minute when Stalen Oliveira found the net, sealing a convincing 3–0 victory for Sao Jose de Areal SC.

The match featured high-intensity, attacking football from both sides. Camarxet had an early chance to take the lead when Rohit Shetty’s header narrowly missed the target. Agxem responded with a powerful strike by Alroy Gomes, but Camarxet goalkeeper Christo Hilario pulled off a stunning save.

Despite multiple chances, the match remained goalless at the end of regular time, pushing the contest into a penalty shootout. On the occasion of completing 10 remarkable years in youth football development, the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) conducted a football clinic in Margao, Goa on Monday. The session aimed to inspire and train young footballers from across the state. The clinic was led by Stephen Charles, Head of Scouting at RFYC, and was attended by academy alumnus and professional footballer Felixson Fernandes, who currently plays for Bengaluru FC. Felixson engaged directly with the young players, sharing insights from his journey and demonstrating skills on the pitch. Stephen Charles stated, “As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we’re conducting this clinic in Goa, which also serves as a scouting platform for our next intake. Goa is a key region for us—we scout across all age groups here for eight months a year. We’ve seen great talent emerge from this region, including Nathan Rodrigues, Narendra Naik, and Felixson Fernandes.” The clinic included skill-based drills like passing, attacking and defending techniques, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 matchups, followed by a short football match. Participants also received guidance on professional-level football, learning from Felixson’s experience at the senior level in Indian football.
