19/03/2015 … Around six members of the 108 Ambulance Service Employees Union under the banner of bharatiya mazdoor sangh have gone on an indefinite hunger strike from Thursday at the azad maidan in panjim …

The members have gone on an indefinite hunger strike demanding in front of the state government to remove gvk contract from running 108 services in goa and also in demanding of reinstating their services back along with the new management

The employees, who have been on strike since February 18, have said that while the government was on their side it was GVK which was not ready to register itself as a contractor.

The union has been demanding for regularization, better working conditions and road worthy vehicles in addition to a long list of other demands.

Mr prabhudsesai said that there were a total of 130 staff under the union and all were from goa only

Meanwhile senior vice president of the nationalist congress party jose Philip dsouza along with ncp spokesperson trojano demello and other members also paid a visit at the azad maidan and heard the grievances of the 108 ambulance services employees

big que at the polling booths at old goa village panchayat were noticed and due to the ballot paper voting systems voters had to wait for long in que for their turns to come for voting

there was not much crowd seen at the polling booth situated at corlim village panchayat and the government officials deployed for the duty at the polling booth did not had much problem to deal with the voting system

Voting was also notice in a slow pace in st Lawrence zp constituency specially at the primary school polling booth in karmali village where in independent candidate dhaku madkaikar casted his vote

Dhaku expressed confident of getting a victory at the zp elections ..

CM TO INAUGURATE ONE DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME ON MARCH 22

Panaji: March 17, 2015 … Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar will inaugurate Training Programme for Master Trainers and Resource Persons for adopting skill method in the language teaching of Marathi and Konkani language for Primary School teachers on March 22, 2015 at Vidya Prabodini at 9.30 am.

 The Training Programme has been organized by Goa Education Development Corporation in collaboration with Directorate of Education and Directorate of Official Language.

 The Chairman of Goa Education Development Corporation, Director of Directorate of Education and Director of Official Language will grace the function.

TIMINGS FOR TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS DURING RE-CARPETING OF RUNAWAY RELAXED

March 16, 2015 …..   The timings for take offs and landings during the third phase of the re-carpeting of the runaway at Dablim Airport has been relaxed upto to 1 pm due to the intervention of the Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar.

Defence Minister Shri Parrikar  convened a meeting at the Dabolim Airport NITB today to discuss about relaxing the timings during the third phase of the re-carpeting of the runaway at Dablim Airport for take offs and landings from 5 am to 1 pm instead of  scheduled 5 am to 11 am. The third phase will start from April 15, 2015 and continue upto June 15, 2015.

The Defence Minister impressed upon  the Officers of the Airports Authority and the Naval Officers the necessity to relax the timings for the benefit of the Tourism Industry.

Power Minister Shri Milind Naik, MLA’s Shri Jose Luis Carlos Almeida, Shri Siddharth Kuncolienkar, Member Operations  Airports Authority of India , Shri G. K. Chaukiyal,  Airport Director, Shri K. S. Rao, FOGA Rear Admiral B. S. Parhar, Shri Francisco Braganza President, TTAG, Shri Ameya Abhyankar, Director Tourim, Airport DTM, Shri Anil Thakur and others were present.

 The representatives of Airline Industry had represented to the Defence Minister  and the Tourism Department Goa requesting for relaxation in the timings as their business would be effected in view of the peak tourist season during the period of the re-carpeting of the  of the runaway.

The work on first phase of re-carpeting will take place from April 1, 2015 to April 8, 2015 while the work on second phase will take place from April 9, 2015 to April 14, 2015. However the take offs and landings will not be affected during the first two phases.

14/03/2014 ….  Is the state bjp led government so poor that it has started to beg by trying to install meters for well in the state the state congress party has question over the decision of the government to install water meters for existing well in the state

It may be noted that the state bjp led government on Friday had decided to maintain records of all existing wells and new ones will have to be mandatorily registered. Tankers and other carriers engaged in the transportation of the ground water have also been brought under the policy as they will not be allowed to ply without passes given by concerned government department.

The policy, which will be adopted in compliance with the High Court directives in 2013, will also be tabled in the Goa legislative assembly after approval of the council of ministers.

Addressing media person’s spokesperson of the state congress party sunil khauntankar said that it was ok if the state government had install the meters for wells which used water for industrial purpose but was totally wrong in doing the same for the well which was used for domestic purpose in the state

Khauntankar said that presently the state government was unable to control the increase of prices in commodities and now with more tax through the installation of meters for well would surely put more burden on goans in the state of goa …

RALLY CONDUCTED ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN SOUTH GOA

Panaji: March 13, 2015The District Magistrate/District Appropriate Authority, South had organized a rally on “Save the Girl Child” on the occasion of “International women‘s day” in South Goa, clubbed with SVEEP activity for the newly enrolled electors and handling of garbage recently.

 The rally commenced from the office of the District Magistrate, Matanhy Saldana Administrative Complex, Margao, was flagged off by the Addl. District Magistrate, South accompanied by the Chairperson of the PC-PNDT Act, South Goa, preceded towards the Margao Municipal Garden, via Holy Spirit. Around 600-700 participants holding the banners, placards shouting the slogans gave wide publicity awareness among the general public to save the girl child, the main aim of the rally.

 Members of PC-PNDT Advisory  Committee, South Goa, Dr. Siona Gomes, Chairperson, Dr. Ira Almeida, Vice Chairperson, Dr. Minaxi Panandikar,  Member Secretary participated in the event. Besides, NSS Unit from Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao Dr. Manoj Kamat NSS Co-ordinator, Mr. Vishal Chari Lecturer, Miss. Preksha Chopdekar Lecturer, Miss. Panaji: March 13, 2015 …  The Asilo Hospital Mapusa has organized a daylong activities for nurses, doctors and supportive staff, a workshop on Crisis Intervention Centre for Women on domestic violence on women in collaboration with CEHAT Mumbai recently.  Shri Rajiv Gawas, Chief Officer MMC, Mapusa and Director of Administration, Directorate of Health Services Administration, Panaji inaugurated the centre.

It may be noted that the present ccp mayors surendra furtado had been enjoying the ccp mayor’s post for the past two years with the support of the monosratte panel but during the recent by-elections of the panjim constituency where in mr furtado had contested the elections on a congress ticket distances seems to have been created between both the politicians

According to the formula that’s have been agreed upon between the monsoratte panel and the bjp panel, the mayor’s post would be given to bjp while deputy mayors post would be held by the monsoratte panel …

Monsoratte said that whatever decision he had taken of supporting the bjp panel for the mayors post was in the interest of the panjim city so that good development could take place though he was not happy with the two years function of mr furtado as the mayor of the corporation city of panjim

Meanwhile speaking to goanreporter over the issue st cruz mla babush monsoratte said that he had been expecting the decision for a long time from the congress party though he had not received any imitation over the same till date

Monsoratte stated that he was happy and relieved from the party which was ruined by certain vested interest party leaders
