NOMINATION INVITED FOR ‘NATIONAL AWARD’ FOR SENIOR CITIZEN

Panaji, June 5, 2018 …. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi as part of celebration of the International Day of Older Person (IDOP) on October 1, every year,  has been conferring ‘Vayoshreshtha Samman’ on eminent Senior Citizens and Institutions involved in rendering distinguished services for the cause of elderly persons, especially indigent senior citizens.

Nominations are invited for  Best Institution for research in the field of Ageing. For institutions with a record of outstanding work in research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of ageing. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 5 Lakhs rupees.

Award for Best institution for providing services to Senior Citizens and Awareness Generation. For institutions with a record of providing services to the elderly especially indigent senior citizens. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 5 Lakhs rupees.

Award for Best District Panchayat in providing services and facilities to Senior Citizens. Any  district Panchayats, which have done outstanding work for senior citizens. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 10 Lakhs rupees.

Award Best Urban Local Body in providing services and facilities to Senior Citizens: municipal bodies, which have done outstanding work for senior citizens. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 5 Lakhs rupees.

Award for  Best Private Sector Organization in promoting the wellbeing and welfare of Senior Citizens: Corporate Houses, addressing the problems of elderly either by providing them gainful employment, or utilizing their skills and experience to the benefit of the society or creating infrastructure in geriatric medical care or any other similar step for the benefit of senior citizens as a community. The activities taken for benefit of senior citizens should be away from the mainline business of the organization. The award consist of Citation  and Memento.

Nominations are also invited for Best Public Sector Organisation in promoting the wellbeing and welfare of Senior Citizens: Any Public Sector Undertakings undertaking service to the community through activities under corporate social responsibility and also through programme for retired employees. The award consist of Citation and Memento.

In Individual  Category Nominations are invited for Centenarian Award: Any renowned individual who are above ninety years and are still physically active independent and contributing to the society. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

Awards for Iconic Mother: For women senior citizens who in the face great odds, brought up their children and supported them in being high achievers in the field of their choice. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

Award for Lifetime Achievement: Any Senior Citizens, preferably above seventy years, who have worked in the field of ageing and made significant contribution in the field. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

Nominations are also invited in Creative Art Category: For winners of National/International acclaim for their contribution to literature, theatre, cinema, music, dance, painting, sculpture, photography, etc. and who continue to be active in their field well into their old age. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

Awards for Sports and Adventure (One each for Male and Female): To senior citizens who have won international acclaim and who continue to contribute in the field of sports and adventure. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

Awards for Courage and Bravery (One each for Male and Female): To senior citizens who have displayed extra ordinary courage in the face of grave danger. The award consist of Citation, Memento and Cash award of 2 Lakhs and 50 Thousand rupees.

The prescribed format is available with the Directorate of Social Welfare. Two each selected in each categories will be recommended to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi.

Interested individuals or Organizations may apply for the National Award on or before  June 19, 2018, along with supporting documents, photographs and Biodata (in soft copy, CD) of the applicant. EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE DIRECTS PRIVATE SECTOR EMPLOYERS TO NOTIFY VACANCIES

 Panaji, June 04, 2018 …. The Regional Employment exchange has notified that many employers in private sector are not notifying vacancies to the Employment Exchange as required under the relevant provisions. As a result of this, Employment Exchange is not in a position to maintain updated information in respect of employment market in the state.

In order to streamline the information about the vacancies in private sector, It is considered expedient by the Government to enjoin upon all the employers in the private sector not only to notify the vacancies but also obtain NOC for advertising the vacant posts through print/ Electronic media/ Campus Interview or any other mode of advertising/ interview from the Regional Employment Exchange.

In case of employer who would like to participate in Job Fair outside Goa, such N.O.C. shall also have to be obtained from the Regional Employment Exchange, Goa. Organizers conducting job Fair in Goa are also required to obtain N.O.C. from the Regional Employment Exchange, Goa.

          Employers need to submit application for N.O.C. to the Employment Officer in Office of Commissioner Labour & Employment, Panaji by online mode. Employment Exchange will convey necessary N.O.C. within 48 hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays). In event of non processing of online application by the Employment Exchange within 48 hours, the N.O.C. will be computer generated and conveyed online to the applicant, soon thereafter.

          The approved N.O.C. number shall be reflected in all the advertisements for filing up of the posts issued by the employers. Application for online N.O.C. can be applied on www.goaonline.gov.in.

13TH FMD-CP TO COMMENCE FROM JUNE 6

Panaji, June 04, 2018 …  The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Panaji will implement the 13th Round of Foot and Mouth Disease Control Programme (FMD-CP) from June 6, 2018. FMD-CP is a Government of India Scheme under Livestock Health and Disease Control (LH&DC).

          In this 30 days programme, efforts will be made to vaccinate the cattle and buffalo population and sera samples will be collected from selected villages, pre and post vaccination, to ascertain the immune status of the herd.

          The dairy farmers are requested to extend their  co-operation to the teams/ staff of Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services to eradicate Foot and Mouth Disease which is highly contagious, and causes high economic losses in milk production, drought power, growth and reproduction.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION ON JUNE 5

Panaji, June 04, 2018 … The United Nations has designated June 5 as the World Environment Day (WED) to serve as “people day” for protective measure to take care of Mother Earth. India is the global host of World Environment Day this year and the theme is “Beat Plastic Pollution” The Government of India has committed to organize and promote the World Environment Day celebration through a series of awareness activities and events generating strong public interest and participation.

          The ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change (MOEF and CC), has decided that awareness programmes will be undertaken for students, general public, NGO’s various government departments and other state holders across the country to create awareness. A wide publicity on impact of plastic waste on environment and the 3R’s principle _reduce, Reuse and Recycle and Restraint will be encouraged .

          The Central Pollution Control Board has  requested the teaching community, transport department and other concerned department and stake holders to educate and create awareness among public and students to reduce the use of single use plastic as a social responsibility.  The plastic mitigation awareness messages should be displayed on websites of all the Government Department  and at prominent locations. Sufficient number of plastic waste collection bins should be set up respective departments and handover the segregated plastic waste to recyclers.

KHAUNTE INAUGURATES JOB FAIR AT SANVORDEM

Margao:  June 03, 2018 … Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Rohan Khaunte in presence of MLA, Sanvordem Constituency and Chairman, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation, Shri Dipak Pauskar inaugurated a mega job fair organised by Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Regional Employment Exchange, Goa at Shristhal, Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Hall, Tisk Sanvordem recentl.

Regional Employment Exchange, Panaji has been selected as Model Career Centre (MCC) under the Union Government new scheme, National Career Service (NCS). NCS is a new initiative that aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and job providers through a well designed structure that comprises an ICT based portal, a country wide setup of career centres, a multilingual call centre and network of career, councillors. NCS brings job seekers, employers, councillors, trainers and placement organisation together on one platform by offering convergence of information.

The objective of this fair is to increase employment opportunities for the job seekers and offer wide range of selection to the recruiters. The State has a large pool of registered job seekers with diverse skills and educational profile. This job fair will provide an excellent opportunity to participating companies to build brand image and procure potential employees as per their requirement in key skill areas.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Goa, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), ASSOCHAM, National Institute of Personal Management (NIPM) – Goa Chapter, Goa State Industries Association (GSIA), BNI and Goa Technology Association (GTA) also partnered the job fair.

AYUSH MINISTER INAUGURATES COMPOUND WALL AND ALSO ATTENDS MEETING OF ADARSH GRAM-KERI

Panaji, June 03, 2018 …. Union Minister of State for AYUSH(IC) Shri. Shripad Naik recently inaugurated the Compound Wall of Corlim Primary Health Centre (PHC), sponsored under the Member of Parliament –Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) in the presence of Deputy Director of Health Dr. Jose D’sa, Deputy Director of AYUSH Dr. Datta Bhat, Medical Officer In-charge of Corlim PHC Dr. Kedar Raikar, Ayurvedic Physician Dr. Supriya Dhond, and Sarpanch Shri. Shiva Naik.

          Speaking on the occasion the Minister lauded Dr. Raikar and his team for working hard towards improving the status of Corlim PHC. “The Government, he said, is bound to serve the public. However, without their support, no work can be completed in time.” Shri. Naik also expressed his wish to make a medicinal plant garden in the PHC area in order to utilize the land for the betterment of villagers.

          He further urged the people to participate in large numbers at the upcoming World Yoga Day and make it a grand success. “Health is wealth and we must treasure it. There is no substitute for Yoga when it comes to the benefits. It keeps one physically and mentally healthy and fresh,” the Minister said.

          The Minister later inspected the compound wall and area intended for medicinal plant garden. Earlier Dr. Raikar welcomed the gathering. Dr. Jose D’Sa and Shri. Shiva Naik also spoke on the occasion. Kum. Avita Parab compered the function Dr. Yogesh Desai proposed vote of thanks.

          The Minister later attended a meeting at Surashri Kesarbai Kerkar High School, Keri Ponda to review the progress made in the village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.           A discussion about projects planned under the Adarsh Gram Yojana was discussed in the meeting. While addressing the grievances put by the villagers, Shri. Shripad Naik asked them to have a constructive and positive approach towards the Government. “The village falls under the Adarsh Gram Scheme, and therefore the pending work will be under taken on priority basis. To smoothen the work flow, we will request the Chief Secretary to grant the HoDs with powers to approve finance. This will help in speed up the monetary process. Also, regular scrutiny from senior Government officials will accelerate the pace of work,” the Minister stated.

          Shri. Gaunekar informed that the Gymnasium and a temple renovation planned under the scheme are on the verge of completion. He also opined that as the village is disconnected from cities like Ponda and Panaji, each department can depute a senior official to pay visits to this village, at least once in a month. “This will enable the department to keep a track of the work plans and its deadlines,” Shri. Gaunekar stated.

KRISHI MAHOTSAV INAUGURATED AT RAVINDRA BHAVAN, SAKHALI

 Panaji:-June 03, 2018…. The Three day krishi Mahotsav being organized  by Directorate of Agriculture in collaboration with the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) North was inaugurated by Shri Rajesh Patnekar, MLA at Sakhali recently.

speaking on the occasion Shri Rajesh Patnekar appealed to farmers to avail the benefits of various schemes being implemented by the State Government. He said Goa is blessed with natural resources and farmers should make utmost use of such resources in their farming business and earn remunerative returns.

Others present on the occasion were Shri Nelson Figuredo, Director of Agriculture, Shri Narahari Haldankar, Former Deputy Speaker, Shri Anand Kanekar, Councilor, Shri Rajesh Sawal, Shri Rajan Falkar, Sarpanch Kudne, Shri Vithoba  Ghadi, Vice Chairman  Ravindra Bhavan.

KHAUNTE INAUGURATES SIXTH STATE LEVEL JOB FAIR

   Margao:  June 02, 2018 …. The sixth State Level Job Fair was organised at Shreesthal Hall Sanvordem by the model career centre of Regional Employment exchange under the office the commissioner of Labour and Employment.

 The Job fair was inaugurated by Minister for Labour and Employment, Rohan Khaunte. Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pauskar, sanvordem sarpanch Sandip pauskar, kalay sarpanch Kishor Dessai sarpanchas of Colem, Dharbandora, Molem and Dabal Kirlapal panchayat, labour Commissioner Jayant tari, Rajkumar Kamat and other were present on the occasion.

In his inaugural speech Minister Khaunte said that the Government is aware about the problems faced by mining effected people and it is leaving no stone unturned to restart mining activities in the State. The job fair not only provides job opportunities but also provides the youth a platform to interaction with different industries. It has been notice that the job fair received overwhelming response from the youths.

Observing that all the parents feel that their wards should get Government jobs which is not possible, he appealed to the youth not to run after Government jobs but to start their own enterprise and become self employed by availing the various schemes provided by the Government. The Government has started skill development courses in association with various industries, he pointed.

 He further said that the labour welfare centre is catering to the needs of women folk from Sanvordem area. Sewing machines are being provided to several women and they will also be provided with work to make them financially strong.

Sanvordem MLA Pauskar said that the job fair provides valuable information regarding the different types of jobs opportunities to the unemployed youths. The Government is trying its level best to uplift the common people. He informed that the interests of the people residing in private forest or reserve forest will be protected by the Government.

He informed that a delegation of Government has gone to Delhi to meet the Central Minister and the Prime Minister to solve the problem of mining ban in Goa and expressed his hope that positive results will come from Delhi. He further said that all the seven village panchayat in Sanvordem constituency will get community halls and panchayat office buildings and playground for recreation.

     Labour Commissioner, Jayant Tari said that the main objective behind organising the job fair is to provide information about employment opportunities existing in different industries. More than 2200 youths have done online registration for employment. The Government is shortlisting the candidates to provide them jobs. He appealed to the youths to show their capacity and efficiency to  companies for absorption on merit. The other intension of organising the job fair in Sanvordem area is to provide job opportunities to the youths of mining effected people. Online services will also be provided to the employers regarding the unemployed youths, he said

GOVERNMENT IS EXPLORING POSSIBILITY OF EMPLOYMENT GENERATION-TOURISM MINISTER

 Panaji: June 02,2018 … The Tourism Minister Shri Manohar  Azgaonkar  said that the Government is exploring possibility of employment generation in the state in private as well as public sector. He said once the work of  International Mopa Airport completes there would be ample opportunities of  employment   for  local youth..

Shri Azgaonkar was speaking at a Hearse Van handover function held at Pernem yesterday. The facility of hearse van is provided under MPLAD fund to cater to the need of local people.

Shri Azgaonkar further said that the Government under Department of Tourism  have  undertaken various developmental  works which comprises  of major  project  of beautification of road  entering from high way to Pernem Bazar. The project  includes the work of improvement of road, widening, illumination, walking   track   etc. He lauded the efforts taken  by Ayush Minister Shri Shripad Naik in providing  hearse  van   for the people of Pernem under MPLAD funds..

The Minister of State for AYUSH  ( Independent Charge) Shri Shripad Naik while speaking said that the facility of hearse van provided  to the Pernem   will help  the needy  and poor being a great relief to them in times of sorrow.
